hi all,

i've been a member of this board before...about two years ago (nov 2004) when we started ttc #2....but never really posted much. we haven't exactly taken a break, we've just stopped charting and TRYING so hard. I guess it's been about a year since i've charted regularly. i think we'll start again as soon as i can buy a new thermometer (my four year old has taken mine to use for her play doctor kit!)

i've not seen a dr. about this. there have been too many things and too many people telling me , "your young and have plenty of time...don't rush it." or "if it's meant to be, then it will happen." and of course from my mom i hear, "you're too fat to get pregnant. why don't you try to lose some weight first." the weight gain is from a back surgery that had left me pretty much immobile for about 6 months. it's coming off now, but very slowly.

even though we're not charting, i'm aware every cycle of the cd i'm on and also when i'm about to drop the egg. my charts seemed normal except for really short cycles....21 -26 days, usually. i've never had a cycle go past 26 days.

i'm going for my yearly exam tomorrow and am finally going to talk to him about this. i wish i had still been charting so i could show him that. OH, and i also have very low temps:

95.9 - 96.6 pre-O
97-97.8 post -O

i remember reading in tcoyf that low temps can be indicitive of a thyroid disorder. funny, becuase i've had cycts removed from my thyroid before/ at that time i wasn't ttc so when they said my levels were normal, i just said okay, get this goiter off my neck! then let it go. now i wonder if i should get that checked again. another symptom i've noticed is sever night sweats. to the point that i soak my pillow and had to get a waterproof pad....not too comfy.

anyway, sorry this is long, i just decided that i'm not going to do this alone anymore. so i'm here.

last week was really depressing because i heard of 3 friends that are pregnant....one on monday...one on tuesday....and one on wednesday. i totally lost it on wednesday. i've never been jealous of other pregnant women but man, this really hurts to see my friends popping out. of course, they know i've been wanting another one so i have to feign excitement for them...then ifeel guilty because i AM happy for them (all are having baby #1) and wish i could show it better instead of stifling a cry.

okay, that's long....good luck everyone....

i'm on cd 10 and plan on starting the bd'ing tonight....does anyone think that i should go ahead and start charting right now, in the middle of my cycle or just wait until cd1 (i'm sure there will be another one.)

nice to meet you,
pandy

Hi and Welcome. When you go to your doctor for the yearly tell him everything you told us and definately include your thyroid ideas. Hopefully they can run some tests and get you some answers. I would also start charting and you can start now in the middle of your cycle. Then when your next cycle starts you have something to compare to.
Also, don't listen to what other people say. Some people just don't understand the difficulities of TTC. We are here for you and many of us have gone through the struggles and can relate. As for friends getting pregnant so easily and feeling happy but sad is very natural. I have been through it. DH and I have been TTC for over a year and in this time I have had cousins and friends get pregnant and already have their baby in their hands to hold. Not an easy thing to swallow.
Hang in there. Talk to your doctor. I hope you get some answers that you need. Keep us posted and good luck.

i'm searching vigilantly for my charts...we used ovusoft and it's been wiped out. from what i remember and info on my livejournal account, my temps dipped on cd 12 or 13. i'm on 13 today and we've bd on 10...12...and now 13.

i've always thought that maybe that's it...short luteal phase. maybe we've fertilized in the past but there just wasn't enough time to implant.? i know i've had spotting before that i hoped was implantation bleeding but it just turned out to be AF.

dr. wants me to start charting again immediately and we'll evaluate in january. it depresses me a litle b/c i have been trying for a year but then again, i haven't done my part for the past year and came into the office empty handed. he's also went ahead and sent me to the lab for testing on my thyroid. i should hear something tomorrow or so. geesh...it's strange to know that we're starting this all again. but i will be 32 in november and dd kayleigh will be 5 in dec so i'll just need to be vigilant.

thanks for the reply!!!

hey! thanks for the reply. that's exactly what dr. told me! start charting again immediately and he went ahead and had testing done on my thyroid. should find out more tomorrow.

i pulled out the ovuscope and saw ferning today so that's cool. i'm a little apprehensive about starting all this again but excited too. i think i'll just go ahead and get the bd done early tonight...forget the dishes for a while! lol.

thanks for the encouragement about babies everywhere. i'm feeling better now and one friend is kind of turning to me for advice and "do you remember when you were this early along...did you...." so that makes it a little easier too. i'm really excited for her. i never was jealous of anyone before when we were actively trying so this is a really strange feeling. it's hard not to feel guilty or like a bad person when you get that twing. i'm glad to hear that it's normal.

My charts look like I was ovulating but my DR said I was not ovulating a mature egg so I had a very hard time in getting pregnant. They game me clomid and I got my BFP first cycle. I would think about going to a DR but make sure that you take your charts.

oh wow! congrats on paige. i remember you from when i was here before. dr. seemed more concerned with my thyroid and all. i had a m/c april 04 at only 9 weeks but nothing since then.

so your cycle was pretty regular, just immature egg? i'll ask about that. still waiting for results from thyroid tests but i think i'll try to bump my appt up from jan to maybe december. that's a full month and a half of charting, at least. also , i hope to run across my old charts soon. thanks for the reply!
