I feel relieved that we are going to get some answers. I gave blood so they could check some hormone levels and I go back on the 23rd to get a progesterone level to see if I ovulate. DH is bringing his "sample" on monday (so we can't BD all weekend, boo). Then when I get my period they will scedule a HSG for sometime 7-14 days later. The doctor is super proactive and wants to do everything to find out what the hold up is.

I am so glad to hear that you will be getting some answers. That will put your mind at ease. I have to go for a HSG sometime in the beginning of November after I start my next cycle.

Hi Lizzy,

I haven't been on much and saw you posted in the fertility charting room. Me being nosey I wanted to see what you have been upto. I looked at your chart and noticed you havn't been bding and you should be ovulating any second now. Now I know why. I had an HSG exam in February. It's nothing to get stressed about. For me it wasn't uncomfortable at all. Some have a little cramping if there is blockages when the dye pushes through your tubes. It's quick and messy when you are finished. I hope they find an answer for you and your blood test come back negative for anything. They give you and antibiotic to take before the xray. It's important not to chance getting pregnant b/c both the antibiotic and the exam can hurt the baby. So you might want to ask about IUI if you want to be aggressive after your diagnosis. I'm moving on to that with the next cycle. Feel free to PM me if you have questions about the testing. One of my friends had endometriosis and I guess the HSG did not pick that up. She found out when she went the RE I sent her to. I don't know what test they did to find that but she never had any symptoms. Quite shocking b/c it's supposed to be painful. Anyway she had surgery to remove it and is getting ready for IUI as well. Best part of seeing an RE is that you really start to feel like you getting somewhere. I have yet to get my husband to test his boys though. Our RE told him since we have been pregnant that we didn't need to. What I would like to point out is that maybe something has changed. I'm going to say something again this week when we go to get my Clomid refill. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response. We actually are still going to try and get pregnant this month. The reason we haven't BD'd is that we did thursday and then our appointment was friday. They told us to abstain for 4 days so then yesterday we got DH's sample in the morning and he raced it over to the lab. We are going to start bd'ing again tonight. I usually have fertile CM for sometimes more than a week before I O and I have been using my OPK and have yet to get a positive. Last month I had a + for five days (yes, that is not so good, I know) so I am not afraid that I missed the surge. We are still trying, just not as vigorously because I have come to realize that I usually don't O till around CD 19-22 (if I O for real). Once I did O at CD16 but if that's the case we are still OK if we get on it tonight. The RE suggested the possibility that my body is just pretending to O...

I'm glad to know the HSG isn't so bad. I get severe cramps with my period so I think I will be able to handle cramping. I just hate being poked around in there. Even just a PAP makes me feel a little humiliated. Oh well, I'm going to have to get over it! I am dying to know the results of DH S/A and the lab won't release the information on our answering machine and DH has crappy cell reception at work and he can't call from the land line because he doesn't want anyone to hear him, for obvious reasons. The RE will be notified of the results of the S/A and call us, but the lab has the results just can't release them without speaking directly to John, Ugh... So it is frustrating to wait like this. I keep checking my phone to make sure the ringer is on and that I don't have any missed calls.

Thanks for the vent space!

Hello, I'm kind of a lurker here, I post once in awhile, but the forum seems to be slow lately. It sounds like u had a good appt, and an awesome doctor who's going to try and do all he can to help u conceive. That's fantastic. I'm hoping all your tests come back normal....although I'm hopeing they find a reason for your infertility, I pray it is something easily fixed. Good luck, and keep us up to date on your results.

Lizzy,

I am a newbie, but I wanted to wish you luck!!!! I have been seeing a RE for about two months now. I had a HSG done in Aug, it was pain-free . Then I got bad news that both my tubes are blocked . I am having a lap done in a week.

Well I guess it is better to have answers, I hope your results come back good!!

good luck to all, i have a question though. can it really be that your charts say you are ovulating and really your body is just pretending. i guess i thought if the charts show ovulation that you must be ovulating. your charts look a lot like mine, i too ovulate late around day 26 or so and have ewcm for a very long time before i ovulate, also your lp looks short like mine. hmmm.......good luck

I charted my temps and my charts look like I was ovulating and the DR said I was not ovulating a mature egg so he had to give me clomid.
