I have had it done twice. It doesn't really hurt too much. The first time it looked great. Second time I could have died. She made them so uneven and she came in at my nose way too far. It looked hideous, and I was so embarrassed!! Now I am afraid to attempt it again so I stick to plucking!!

I've never waxed my eyebrows, but I totally recommend threading. My eyebrows look so much better since they have been threaded and the shape is really nice. In between I pluck.

I have gotten my eyebrows waxed before and I love it. My hair grows fast so for me I have to pluck several times a week. When I get my eyebrows waxed I don't have to go back for a couple of months because I will pluck in between (and do it less times). I love how they get shaped and trimmed. I don't think it hurts that bad. Definately try it out tootienkyle you might really like how they turn out.

Dumb question, but what is threading? I have never heard of it.

Not a dumb question. Basically you lie back on a chair (bit like getting your hair washed at the hairdressers) and a lady wraps thread between two fingers and then plucks out the eyebrow eye from the root. Its a very clever technique and you get a really neat finish and the eyebrows look amazing. The same process can be used to remove any kind of female facial hair (upper lip, chin etc).

A lot of indian ladies have their eyebrows threaded, but its becoming increasingly popular with non indian ladies in the UK too.

If you were in the UK I could tell you where to go!! I am sure there must be people who do threading where you are too - definitely worth a shot. It can be inexpensive too . In the UK you typically pay 5-10 dollars.

hope that helps!!

That does help. THanks! I learn something new everyday. Maybe I will have to look into threading around here and try it out.

I've done both...I've been getting my eyebrows waxed probably since I turned 15 years old (and I'm 36 now). You definitely have to go to someone you trust and be very particular about what you want. Maybe have the person start taking off a little bit and then decide if you want to take off more. Otherwise you could end up unhappy. I don't think it hurts, and even if it does, usually it is only for a few seconds. Do not go during AF b/c your skin tends to be more sensitive during that time. Some people take an advil or tylenol before bikini waxing to help with the pain. I'm assuming it would help a little for eyebrows too, although I don't think you'll need it. As for the threading, I do think you get great results as well, although I think it hurts more than waxing. Also, since this is somewhat less common in the states, you definitely need to go to someone who knows what they are doing.

I've been getting them done for 5 years now. I never noticed or cared before, but once I started going I realized how bad they looked when I didn't get them done.
I sometimes make my dh go too He would have 1 giant unibrow if I didn't. He puts up a big fight, but he caves when I start to pull the tweezers out to pluck 'em!
