We've been TTC for around 8 or 9 months. Took a break in there, but total it's been about 9 months of really TTC.

I have a friend who has been telling me to go to the doc to get checked out just to be sure everything is ok. That if it's NOT ok, it may be something really simple and we can fix it and get pregnant.

She makes a very good point. But she has been telling me this from about month 4 or 5 of TTC. And I'm just not "at that point" yet of going to the doc to see if something is wrong.

And before you ask...I don't know WHY I feel this way. Maybe it's just that I'm not ready to hear "there's something wrong with you". Or maybe I'm just afraid of the unknown - on many levels.

What does that dr appt consist of? I'm sure they draw blood. Do they do a pelvic exam? Do they do an ultrasound? Do they test DH too?

I think I'll give it a few more months before I make an appt.

The doctor's appointment consists of you getting blood drawn twice, once on day 3 and once on day 23. They will test your progesterone levels to see if you are o'ing.
You will also need to have an HSG test. This determines if your tubes are blocked.
Your DH/SO will have to have a s/a done.

I know it is hard not wanting to hear what is wrong but for all you know nothing is wrong.
DH and I just finished all our tests last week. We have been ttc for about 18 months now. We are all clear and ready to start clomid next cycyle.
I hope things work out for you. If you need to talk you can PM me.

I just got blood tests back. They tested hormones, glucose, thyroid, and something else. I did not get a progesterone test though. She did mention a HSG-which I'm debating. An average time to conceive is between 6-12 months for most couples. Some drs will not start tests until 12 months or after 3 m/c. Yes, they should do a yearly pelvic and pap too.

I totally understand what you are going through. DH and I have been trying for 4 years on adn off and for the last 9 months or so we have been really trying and still nothing. I just made us a Dr Appt and its coming up at the end of the month. So we will see. I wish you the nest of luck!
