well Af arrived tonight, and should be in full force tomorrow, after a false start 2 weeks ago, i'm both glad and sad that she is here. this is now our last month TTC on our own before we go for another referral. so this month i am going to pull out all the stops. i am going to take EPO Green tea tablets and Soy isoflavones , and BD every other day from day 10 on. so what do you all think do i have a chance?
and now for some questions, how much EPO and green tea tablets should i take? i want to maximize my chances and get as much EWCM as possible, i don't have much normally if any at all. Any help would be appreciated
thanks ladies

I'm sorry she showed. With the EPO and the green tea, you need to stop taking it when you O. They can both soften your cervix, and you don't want that when you conceive. I took 3000mg of EPO but then knocked myself down to 1500mg because I found out the side effects to my body. And the green tea, if you drink it, you are to drink at least 1 cup a day. I don't know about pills though. Good luck!

I'm trying Mucinex this cycle after the recommendation from someone who takes it for another condition and got pregnant twice on it on accident. I can really see a difference in my cm already and I've only taken it for 2 days. I can't wait to see what it does closer to O time! I'll let you know if it works for me.

I got my AF as well. (And I don't even know what A and F stand for - but of course know what it means!)
I have to say I'm feeling a bit down on the green tea, "natural" approaches..after 6 months trying like that....
But I really do think that what makes a person feel good/right is the best thing for them up to a point.
I have a video blog about my frolics in (in) fertility armed only with a willing husband, a trusted video camera and waning biological resources. I addressed this idea of eastern/"natural" approaches vs. western/medical intervention in a recent posting.
Perhaps the videos can spark some comments from all of you!

Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers and hearing your stories.
Best to all -

Hi Mia,
Welcome to Just Mommies, thank you for the relpy, and i like your video, it is true what you say, it least I believe it. i had to use clomid to conceive my son and i know i probably will have to again, but it means alot to me to try naturally even with the heartbreak of getting AF every cycle and after my day of being upset over AF arriving i do feel good about this cycle. but i do wish that i didn't have to wait a year for the medical intervention, at least that year is up in February

I'm sure you probably can! You need to look for the Mucinex that only contains guaifenesin. I think you can buy guaifenesin all by itself too, like maybe at a GNC or something. I'm going to look for it at Wal-Mart first and then look elsewhere, as my Mucinex is almost gone and I think the other stuff is cheaper. I saw on a website to start taking it 5 days after your period stops, but I started it on cd9 and will take it up until I ovulate. It really doesn't matter when you start taking it, though. It won't hurt you. I know someone who takes it every day all the time. It is used to treat fibromialgia. Over on the TTC board, look for the thread called Hostile CM. There is a link to an article that I read in there about why you should use Mucinex to get better cm instead of Robitussin, like many women do. I hope that helps you!

You're welcome! Oh, I forgot to tell you before, that you can either take one or two per day. I take one a day and that is working just fine for me.

I haven't gone to look at the thread, but you can get robitussin that's just guaifenesin, so what would the difference between that and taking the Mucinex that only contains that be? Maybe I should read the article.

Well, the problem is just that there are SO many types of Robitussin out there that it is hard for women to find the right one that only has the guaifenesin in it. If you can get the one with only that in it, then it would be the exact same thing. The danger is that if you use the Tussin that has the other stuff in it, those things can be harmful to a developing fetus when you don't know you're pregnant yet.

(((hugs))) I'm sorry sweetie. I drink green tea 1-2 glasses per day and it does help. As far as mucinex vs robitussin, 1. the price (Mucinex is more expensive), 2. robitussin is liquid and mucinex is pill. just make sure the only thing in robitussin is the guanfinicin. (i know I spelled that wrong). That is the active ingredient in both robitussin and mucinex. Good LUck sweety!

I just found out that you can buy Mucinex in a generic form now!! It was considerably cheaper, but it was 400 mg instead of the standard 600 mg in Mucinex, so I'm just going to take a pill and a half of the cheaper ones.

Hi! thanks so much for taking a look at the videos. I'm posting another one tomorrow to update things...
I don't think the cough meds are doing anything for me...and then I start to think that it's because I'm old (I had issues with dryness even before Clomid) and that makes me feel terrible.
Well, soldiering on...
I'll look into the stuff you are all recommending. I wonder why doctors don't prescribe something better than cold meds!?
And I do understand those who want to go the natural route...I just feel so frustrated right now that I really really need the help of a specialist.
