Hey Everyone! My husband and I have been married for a little over 7 months now. This is the 6 month we have been trying. I am on CD 19 and I once again feel my boobs starting to hurt. Now mind you, I always have a pretty regular cycle... 27-30 days. For some reason, 11 days before my AF is supposed to be here, my boobs start to hurt. Mainly on the left side of my left breast and then everyday from there it gets worse and then both hurt up until a day before AF shows. I usually get VERY VERY light cramps from 11 days before AF and then 2 days berfore I start feeling heavy cramps and then the AF comes and the cramps get worse. I can never go by any of the "pregnancy symptoms" that I see all over the internet because I have all of those every month and still no baby.
Now, I am thinking that since my cycle is usually 27-30 (mostly ALWAYS 27-28) that I have a pretty regular cycle, which, the internet suggests, that I do ovulate. OH! I also get ovulation cramps ( Well i used to but for the past 3 months I haven't, but my period is still regular. So i am thinking that I am fertile!
So if I am, then why is it taking me 6 months (and counting) to conveive. It took my mom ONE SHOT and she got pregnant with me.
My husband's parents have 3 kids, would of had 4 but they misscarried. So I am thinking he's fertile...so AGAIN...WHY 6+ months of trying to conceiev.
If anyone can help me out, or give me some insight on anything about this...I would really appreciate it!
Thank you sooooooo much! </div>

Welcome!! Granted its not where we all want to be, we would all rather be in the DDC boards!

Ok, so they say a normal healthy couple conceives in 3-9 months, but most concieve within a year. There is only about a 25% chance each month of conceiving, and it goes down the older you are. So there is that against us.

Have you started talking to your doctors about this? Now that you are at the 6 month mark, they will be more apt to discuss fertility issues with you. Most likely the first tests they will do is a blood panel on you to check your hormones (and they should do a full test on everything to make sure you are all good to go in all areas - they did with me). They might suggest the hubby get his swimmers looked at. And if your blood work comes back normal, they would probably want to do a HSG test to see if there are any phycial issues with your organs (this was my problem - both tubes blocked).

I don't know the next steps. Each person and doctor is different.

Good luck and hope your stay is short. Hope this has helped you out.

Thank you!
I have talked to doctors, a few times during the 0-5 months of TTC. They all just told me to have sex on day 8,10,12,14,16,18,20...and I have, 6 times now and still nothing. I should go get my levels checked..hopefully they will let me because I hear everywhere that you have to wait until you have been trying for a year. But it's hard to wait that long because I want a baby by then Anyway, thank you for your reply, I will be going to the doctors soon!

Welcome!

I know how hard it is month after Month to get a BFN. I also thought what was wrong with me. I know in MY case the DR did nothing till I had been TTC 12 cycles. then they did a CD 21 check up on me and found out that I was not Ovulating on my own and they gave me Clomid and I got my BFP the 1st Month.

Your Timing on BD is GREAT they told me every 36-48 hours. Do you chart your temps? If not you may want to look into doing that. My Dr had me to do it before they put me on Clomid. Good Luck I hope to see you in a DDC soon!!!!

I'm sorry that you have to be here, but welcome to the board.

Just because your dh's parents had kids, doesn't mean that he's fertile. A lot of different things can affect fertility. A semen analysis (SA) is the easiest and one of the cheaper fertility testing they can do. Just note that it can vary greatly from month to month. A SA may come back perfect, but several months down the road it could be off which could cause problems with fertility.

Since you are fairly regular, you are most likely ovulating. You may have other problems going on that could be preventing it, though. It is very frustrating. Have you ever used OPK's (ovulation predictor kits)? This test your LH (lutenizing hormone) surge. Your body releases this hormone to tell your ovaries it's time to release the egg. If you have a later ovulation it you could have a shorter luteal phase (the time between ovulation and AF). This can make it harder for implantation to occur if it's "too short". Of course doctors argue on if this is really a factor or not. A fertility monitor also tests LH, but it tests for your estrogen rise as well, which happens before a LH surge. Charting your BBT may also be helpful.

So, anyway, there are a lot of different things that can affect fertility. There also may be absolutely nothing wrong with you or your dh. Some couples have what they call unexplained infertility. I know that doesn't make things any easier, but there are a lot of people who have been trying just as long as you have or longer. We are all here for each other.

I hope your doctor is willing to start running some tests, but he/she may not until you at least have some sort of record of when you've been ovulating (by either charting, using OPK's or a fertility monitor). Also, others want you to wait until you've been trying for a year.

Mine was willing to start testing this cycle after trying for 8 (currently on cycle 9), but I also already have a known factor that could possibly affect fertilty (endometriosis), so that may have played into the willingness of running tests sooner.

Welcome, sorry you have to be here and i hope you get a BFP soon. I'm Tamara TTC #2 will be one year again february, My doctor won't see me until i have been Trying a year. I had to use clomid to concieve my son and before they put me on it they did a complete blood check and checked DH Sperm, mostly because if his swimmers were no good there would be no point for me to go on clomid. I know some men don't want to get a S/A done but it really helps. Good luck to you
