I have read many of you are taking clomid. I am confused about when this drug is prescribed. I don't seem to have a problem but so far my gyno has been reluctant to run any test. Most of you might know that dh and I have been ttc for 16 months now and are in our 17th month right now. We each have a child already and mmy cycles are pretty normal. They are a bit shorter then what they use to be before I used the patch 4 years ago. But they are slowly getting back to the normal length. They come every 27 to 30 days and I used opk's twice and did bbt charting for 6 months and I seem to ovulate just fine. But we still aren't pg yet. Is clomid something I can ask my doc for and maybe it will help us? I see some women taking it but don't seem to have any issues with there cycles either. Is it just something that can be given to help speed the process up if your cycles are normal and you have no known issues? I want to try it and see if it will help but a part of me is a little scared because of the increase chance of multiples and I heard it gives you mood swings. I am already stressed about ttc and I'm a gemini, can't afford more mood swings, lol. Any advice about taking it and is it something I should try considering my circumstances?
i've taken it. For me it was because i wasn't ovulation, but some ladies have regular cycles and just need a strongest Ovulation, so thats why they take it. i think you should ask about it. he your doc says no then ask why not and ask why isn't there being some tests taken. good luck and i hope you get a bfp before you need clomid

Thanks bunches! I am going to schedule another appoinment with my doc and see if we can get some test done around here. Maybe she will give me clomid. I am hoping that something works out soon though.
Yup what the other girls said... it's taken to hyperstimulate your ovaries so there are more "targets" for your husband, therefore increasing your chances. Yes there is an increase in the risk of multiples, and yes it can make you really crabby. It does me! But only for a couple of weeks or so.
