well I went to my DR's appt. today and he told me that I have to be on metformin/glucophage for 5-6 months before he will start me on clomid. Anyone else hear this from their DR?? I also just found out he is no longer an ob/gyn just a gyn should I switch to an ob/gyn or just stick with him for awhile?

This sucks. He wouldn't do any of the tests I wanted him to do. He said if I'm having a period then I am ovulating.

Yep, he's as useless as... can't think of anything as useless, lol. It's not true that you ovulating for sure just because you have a period. I know tons of ladies who are on clomid because they aren't ovulating, but they get their period all the time, although a bit irregular.

Good luck with your next doctor.

Hun, I would definately find myself a new dr. I know that I don't ovulate, and I have pretty regular periods. Your dr should be open to your suggestions about ttc, not just jump to whatever he thinks is best in general. Everyone is different, he should have at least done a blood test to check your hormones and your thyroid. Find yourself an understanding open minded dr that you are comfortable with. Sorry about the little rant, but I've been in the same situation.
Melinda

Take that dr and
