I really don't know hun - but I wanted to say Hi & Welcome. There is a board here for PCOS specifically that might have a few more knowlegeable people about your specific question. I don't at all mean that you should be posting only in that forum, but you may want to post your question in both places to increase your chances of getting an informative answer!

I am sorry you have that extra struggle to deal with on top of the normal ttc. I wish you heaps of baby dust & the best of luck!

I am on metformin, it helps regulate your insulin levels that can be messed up by pcos or other situations. By regulating the insulin level you can grow bigger better eggs and actually ovulate better. hope this answers your question

Welcome to the board.

I wanted to share this story with you...

The lady who does my nails (and has become a friend) tried to get pg for ages- she has PCOS. After many unsuccessful attempts at IUI, she fell pg. She has a gorgeous 6-year-old son. They decided they wanted another baby to complete their family, and tried naturally for 2 years- nothing. They tried IUI again (6 times, I think), until the fertility clinic wouldn't treat them anymore- they said they wouldn't steal their money. IVF was too expensive for them, so they gave up. Her weight started to get out of control and her cycles were completely whacked, so she went to her gp- they placed her on metformin. Keeping in mind they had given up trying (so they weren't bd'ing at the right time, etc), she was pg the next month. She has a baby girl now. She's 34, and she is content with her two children. She is back on the metformin, and has lost 50 pounds. She looks great.

Anyhow, I've read that it is fantastic for PCOS- I believe it also treats diabetes...

Good luck with your mission!!!

Tracy
