Hi there. Popping in from the TTC board (Could be here soon though..)

Anyway, just wanted to offer my advice. I'm 26 and have had two colonoscopies. Are they fun? NO! Will you make it through? Absolutely!

The night before, when you prepare you're body - that's the worse part. You and Mr. Toilet will be best friends. Dont know if you are drinking the liquid, or taking the pills, but i definitely say take the pills if you have a choice. I did the liquid the first time and it is just nasty. That was even worse than the whole toilet thing.

The procedure itself goes quickly. The medication knocks me out cold, so i dont remember a thing and have never been sore or anything afterward.

TMI - the first colonoscopy they had to remove a very large pollup. I did experience some major cramping as they were working to remove that and woke up while they were doing it. They just quickly gave me another dose of meds, and off to Wonderland i went.

All in all - it's worth it. I rather know everything is OK or not, than to not go through with it becuase it's not exactly a pleasant experience.

Best of Luck to you. I'm sure everything will go fine!

Are you having a colposcopy or a colonoscopy? A colposcopy is a test done with a scope through the vagina to see what is going on... colonoscopy is through the rectum into the vagina. I am a medical student right now.. if you want any info, feel free to pm me. Take care!

I have had several colposcopies. Nothing to it! Some small samples taken of the cervix and a little bit of cramping but that's it!!
