Hello all,

I am new to the board but have been reading it trying to figure out why I don't have a baby on the way. I have a two year old son and we had no trouble conceiving him. He was a Honeymoon baby. We have been ttc for 6 months. The first month I had a miscarriage and have been unable to conceive since. I joined a study at the university here. They are testing First Response OPKs. I freeze a cup of urine every morning and test with an OPK from day 9 to a positive. The doc charts my numbers. These include the LH and HCG numbers. It's actually quite interesting. The first month I had a strong LH surge on day 15 and a small surge on day 9. The second month was day 16. This month, I had symptoms of O on day 9, negative OPK but it was building towards a positive (it was almost as dark as the control line). We baby danced, (I think it's called) every other day pretty much this whole month. I was put on Flagyl for an infection on day 11. The slight line that had been darkening on the OPK disappeared completely once I started the Flagyl. I was assured by the OBGyn that Flagyl does not affect fertility. So it must affect the OPK because I am day 19 and still no positive. Or, maybe I got pregnant around day nine and so I would not have a surge and therefore no positive on the OPK. Anywho, does anyone know anything about Flagyl and the effects on OPKs? There wasn't even the slightest line on the OPK while I was on the Flagyl. Strange huh?

I am so thankful for these boards because it is so depressing and frustrating to try and try and not conceive. Especially when people tell you to relax and it'll happen. I do feel relaxed, but it is on my mind a lot. How do you not think about it?

Thanks!

Welcome I'm a newbie too! My name is Teresa and our first took us 7+ years to get here. I've been tracking mine with the Clear Blue Easy fertility monitor for just about 6 months or so. I get a definite O every month, it's never on the same CD but has always been 14 days before I start so I guess the things working. Now that I've figured out I'm o'ing I just gotta figure out what to check or fix next. We BD during the O days every time.

I was on these boards awhile back and left for some unknown reason but now Im bck and looking for advice again. A bit of history on me, Im 33, have 3 boys age 5, 3 and 2 and really ttc #4. Im on my 3rd cycle with clomid and today is cd 16. Ive been taking opks since cd13 and the last 3 days excluding today have had the second line but not as dark as the test line (all 3 days had the same color line). Todaysline was definitely darker than the last 3 days but still not as dark as the test line. Dh and I have bd every day since cd11 except today so far and Im wondering if o is really close and if I miss today will i lose my chance. Another question I have is ive been taking clomid on cd 3-7 and today is cd16 and stil lno ovulation, is this normal? IS clomid supposed to make you ovlate earlier? Can someone lease help>

TIA
