back from RE appt & u/s

Well I'm back.....

I don't know what to say or where to begin. I'm so heartbroken, devastated and upset right now. I bawled the whole way home.

I can't deal with this. This is all is way too hard for me.

We didn't get ANY good news. Instead we got a TRIPLE whammy!!!! I couldn't believe it, bad news all around.
1. The bleeping cyst was still there, not smaller at all.
2. The doc won't treat me till it's gone.
3. His options: stay on BCP or get a laprascopy. (it may be cancerous too, but he doesn't think so but he's pushing for the laprascopy to be certain.)

Obviously, I don't want BCP anymore. We wanna try. We can't afford a laprascopy (we don't have insurance and don't qualify for medical/medicaid) He wanted/expected us to make a decision right then and there of what we planned on doing. Hmmm hello?!? we needed to sit and talk about what we want to do and what we feel is best. I couldn't believe he wanted the it done NOW!! I mean come on we recieved more bad news, there's no why I could make a decision just yet.

(I think it's a lil ridicuolous that my RE won't treat me because of ONE cyst....I've heard of many others being treated with fertility meds even having 1 or more cysts or more and getting pg. Right this is a li ridiculous huh? This is why we think we'll need a second opinion.)

I don't think this cyst is preventing us from getting pg, but then again I could be wrong. The RE just said it was a functional cyst. I've read of ladies having one and still getting pg and having it while pg with no complications or pregnancy made it disappear. Or is this not true?

So....we'll be trying naturally this cycle with more added natural herbs and supplements in hopes that they work wonders. I just bought a book about treating fertility naturally with herbs, extra vitamins etc. They've worked for others and I hope they will for me. I'd rather do this naturally anyways. We talked and we want to try ourselves, we haven't been able to TRY since December!! So we really want to try. And don't they say some are very fertile after stopping BCP? We're praying and hoping we can get prego on our own. If within 2-3 cycles or something we're not pg on our own from the natural treatment, then we plan on getting a second opinion with a different fertility doctor. (an office that has more than one doc too) Hoping and praying that we won't need a laprscopy or a second opinion and we''ll be able to conceive naturally all by ourselves. Please God let 17 be our lucky number!!!

im sorry its not good news. I was hoping it was going to be good. Hopefully the book will help and you can concieve naturally.

Awww Lindsey,you must be feeling awful hunny.
Im so sorry that you got all this bad news,but you never know,the information in this book that you got might just be all you need .
I say try on your own.Good luck girl xxxx

WOW! i really thought that this would of been good news. Hun im going to tell you something. my mom had cysts and she had NO problem in conceiving us kids. Some doctors just want to take you for a ride and take every cent you have. Believe what your heart says, and if thats finding a new dr then go for it! I have had problems with cysts and i also had cervical cancer. and i have 2 living boys and 1 girl on the way. It sounds to me that your dr doesnt really care, he just wants the money. Is there a group that you can find in your city, that has woman with this problem? that could tell you what direction to take? sometimes there is support groups to help you and its very helpful in the long run. Lindsey i wish you all the best. I really was hoping you would of gotten good news yesterday.

Oh honey!! I am so so so sorry!!! If I were you.. I would get a second opinion... some doctors just go by what they think will give them more money!! Matty and I do not have insurance as well.. so we are just using Clomid.. IF I WERE YOU.. i would go to a regular Gyno.... tell you have had problems with cysts in the past.. and you want him to check it out! See what he says.. I know reg OB/GYN are cheaper!! I know RE deal with infertitlity.. but like in my town.. my GYNO has to refer me to a RE.. i didnt konw if that is hat has happened to you or not... but I hope things get better for you in sunny CALI!!

That's exactly what we think too, he just wants our money, etc. Not sure about the support group, need to research into that. I so wish we wouldn't have sat out the past 3 cycles not trying. I should have told the RE no to the BCP. I'm kicking myself now. But maybe I'll be one of the ones who conceive immediately after BCP. wishful thinking of course.

Thanks Leslie! I know what you mean and I think that's what we discovered. I mean he was nice not charging us in the beginning but then he charged us yesterday with the bad news. grrrrrr. Anyways, I think we will be getting a second opinion from an OB/GYN, if after 2 or 3 cycles of netural herbal trying we're not pregnant. I saw an OB/GYN back in August and she mentioned Clomid and progesterone, etc. But she was dumb also saying, just have sex every other day and you'll get pregnant. She couldn't read a BBT chart either, saying I ovulate twice a month. ok that's just wrong.

But if we get a 2nd opinion we'll be going to a different OB/GYn and explain everything and hopes that they can treat us, cause yea it would be cheaper too. But I guess if the OB/GYN won't help we'll go see another RE. But I hope of course we won't need any second opinion and that this herbal, al naturale route will bring us our miracle baby!
