Am I the only baby when it comes to these infertility procedures? I don't want to get an HSG, I don't want to take Met and Clomid, and I don't want to have an IUI! I am feeling like such a baby!

You're not a baby. I waited forever to call my doctor because we were sure we could do it on our own and I don't want all the tests, procedures or drugs. It may come to that in the end though and I would be just as nervous as you are. I've always been an extremely healthy person and have never been in the hospital or had any type of procedure done. I've broken a few bones, had stitches a few times and had my wisdom teeth pulled. That's all I've ever had done and my wisdom teeth were already in, so they were very easy to have pulled.

Don't feel like a baby. I'm sure everyone in your situation gets stressed and a bit fed up at times. You just have to keep your mind on the end result. When you have a baby after all of this it will make the wait and everything you go through worth it. Hopefully once that equipment gets working right, it'll happen easier for you a second time if you want more than one.

You're like me. I would have gone to that board to.

I would want to know everything that's going to happen. I'm sure that would freak most people out, but it would help me to not freak out.

Michelle I totally know how you feel!!! I don't wanna have to get a laparoscopy, there's no point especially if it ruptured. ladies get prego with cysts all the time and sometimes because of pregnancy go away, so that's why we're trying naturally. We're determined we can beat the odds. If no luck in 3 cycles we're getting another opinion. I don't if you like your RE or not, but you really don't want to do the procedure and stuff, maybe get a second opinion? I don't know, just an idea. But I'm such a baby with that stuff too. Good luck!

I too am terrified of the HSG. I keep hearing from EVERYONE that it was extremely painful. I know it is necessary because of my endo and there is no point in the clomid if my tubes are blocked, but I sitll don't wanna. I hate clomid, HATE it. The side effects suck for me. I seriously could not wear my regular pants the entire cycle because I was bloated from it. Plus, I am HATING met. It's gotten a bit better today, but 48 hrs of burping was really starting to get to me.

/rant over. You are not alone.

Now why would you do a thing like that? IT is horrible, and other online places have worse stories! Check out my HSG thread over there to see what my doc's nurse said. actually, I will post it here too

Hello! I introduced myself here a while back, but it has been a while. My husband and I are TTC with MFI and PCOS, and we will be having an IUI. But first, I will have blood work done tomorrow and an HSG. Problem is my doctor is on vacation so I won't be able to get the HSG done until CD 14! If he decides that is ok. I usually have long cycles, but I have recently begun a new PCOS diet and exercise regime so I could ovulate sooner, closer to CD 14. Then I have to wait a whole new cycle to get the HSG and IUI! I am frustrated and needed to vent somewhere with ladies that know what I am talking about! I'll find out what he says about all this on Tuesday.

Oh, and your HSG stories freaked me out! I talked to the nurse and she told me my RE is one of the best at the procedure, and that is why he does them himself. And she also said that if I follow his instruction, drink a lot of water, take ibuprofen and the Valium he gave me, that it will be minimally painful. I hope she is right!
