Yesterday I got a sample of toddler formula in the mail from Enfamil which made me a little sad because on the envelope it said "I'm not a baby, I'm a toddler, I am having a hard time accepting my baby is growing so fast!!!
Anyway, I got off topic. Are any of you who are giving formula now going to use a toddler formula? I actually never thought of it, I was just so happy to not have to buy formula anymore!

I havnt decided yet...lol...I get WIC and I think they only pay for formula until a year and thats it. And formula is very exspensive(sp?) so I havent decided if I'm going to continue to give it to him or not. It will prolly depend on how he does with milk. I havnt tried it at all yet, just lil taste here and there.

Ryder's been on toddler formula for about 2ish months cause on the can it says 10mos plus... so I started getting that. I like it cause it's so much cheaper than the baby formula! I don't think I'm going to keep it up much longer. Once we do away with bottles completely I'll prolly try to just give him cow's milk. He gets some dairy stuff already and does fine with it. So I'm hoping it'll be an easier transition. I'm just not sure if I need to be giving him 1% 2% Vit D Skim or just what I have lol. Not sure if toddlers need "special" milk.

I never really looked at the cans so I didn't know they were cheaper!!! Now you tell me!! Oh well I have 2 cans now and when they are gone I I am not buying anymore. I have given Aleyah little drinks of milk here and there and she likes it so I don't think she will have a problem switching over.
Most doctors recommend Whole milk until age 2.

I agree with most of the aove posters. Toddler formula is mostly a marketing scheme to get parents to but expensive formula that the majority of toddlers do not need. That being said, I do think there are rare instances in which this may be of benefit- usually when a toddler is an extremely restrictive/picky eater and does not get the nutrients he/she needs for growth. But in that case there are other alternatives, like pediasure supplements/carnation instant breakfast with whole milk, etc, that are cheaper.

Have you tired mixing in half formula half milk? maybe she'll take it that way then slowly reduce the amount of formula and add more milk

Teddy is still a food free baby due to his disorder, so we'll be switching to one of the elemental junior formulas soon. Probably Neocate Jr.

Presley has been drinking whole milk for acouple weeks and doesnt seem to mind it at all but we have her on formula still too.
Once she turns 1, we will switch to 2% milk as our Pedi told us they don't need whole milk. I had Avry on it for alittle bit before switching to 2% after our pedi said he didnt need the whole milk so we will do the same for Presley.

I started giving Peyton whole milk about 3 wks ago. We did 1/4 of her sippy cup with milk, the next week 1/2 the cup and this week 3/4. I will finish this container of formula by just adding a little bit of formula to each cup but then we will be done with it. Mixing it made the transition very easy. And she has had no reaction to it. Thankfully Im sorry to those of you that have to deal with food/ formula/ milk issues. You guys are always in my thoughts.

That is exactly what I think! The formula companies will make you feel anything is necessary just to get your money

I got the same sample in the mail! I didn't even really know there was such a thing and was very happy that our formula days were over. The twins are on whole milk (they turned 1 last week) and I think we are gonna kepe it that way...I too think it's just for formula companies to extend their market base.
