Ladies, I finished the Chicago Marathon! And beat the time I wanted to beat! I'm absolutely thrilled and the feeling I got when I saw that finish line and received my official finisher's medal was something I can't describe. Today I'm feeling every mile

but it was well worth it! I felt pretty good until mile 18. Knew that would happen because my longest run was 17. Mile 20 my hips started bothering me, mile 22 my leg muscles started threatening to cramp up. Mile 23 was the worst. I had come so far, but still had 3.2 miles to go. It felt like a million miles still lay ahead. Mile 25 I almost cried because I knew I would finish. I did have to walk the majority of the last 6 miles, but despite that, I finished.
My unofficial time was 6:07:34. Thought I'd share a couple pics!
Loving the run through the streets of Chicago. It truly was an amazing experience!
Still smiling!
Now I'm "done" with this marathon..at this point it was all I could do to keep my legs moving b/c once I stopped moving, I knew they would just seize up! It felt like my muscles could literally snap!
Finished!!! and finally felt like it was safe to sit!
Feeling great, tired/sore, but absolutely a very empowering moment for me!
