What's making you and today?




WooHoo: Caleb actually slept last night and DH and I were able to watch a movie and hang out for a change.

Whine: I'm completely freaking out about $ right now, because I have a feeling we're going to be told we HAVE to re-side the house because there is some lead paint that was painted over that's now chipping off...and I'm not sure where we will find that kind of money. If we had it, we would have already put up new siding. Add to that we need a new car, new tires for the van, and it's been slow at work... *sigh* just not enjoying being an adult today

Jaime - just curious, is your pay dependent on how many patients there are?

Whine - Lost my voice, and a couple of times I coughed so hard it felt like I might throw up.

Whoo hoo - My baby boy is not sick anymore! It is so great to see him happy again.

Whine: I have to get our extra bedroom in order this weekend because we have guests coming next weekend.

Yep. We staff based on the number of patients we have. If we are slow, like we were this past weekend (2 moms and babies Saturday night...that was it), we "flex" staff off work so the hospital isn't paying 8 nurses to care for 4 patients. Sometimes it's nice getting an unexpected day off, but we've been slow for awhile b/c the hospital across town opened a new unit. They're used to being slow like we are and we're used to being busy. It will turn around when we open our new unit next Spring, but right now it stinks
