Who's going to any Christmas parties?

We have a nightshift Christmas party every year and it is SO much fun! We aren't allowed to talk about work. There's always a ton of food, good wine, and we do a chinese gift exchange which is always hilarious because people get serious! One year, this prim and proper older nurse took off her shoes and knee highs and put on a pair of the hospitals treaded no-slip socks so she could run! And there's always gag gifts and "Hootie the Owl" to mess with the newbies...a $20 gift card comes with that at the end of the game. I wanted to do an ugly Christmas sweater party, but I can't get myself organized for my day to day life, let alone plan a party!

DH and I work for a really really large corporation so our Christmas party is held at an event centre with several hundred people. We dress formal and have a huge buffet dinner, dancing and they do Christmas photographs every year, which is nice. We usually don't stay too much in to the dancing because it tends to snow a bit here in November/December and we want the babysitter to make it home ok...lol.
My department will often do something too...usually involving getting together at someone's house for appetizers and having a gift exchange (like the one Jaime was talking about...so fun!). But I don't think it's happening this year.

nope. not my work. i am trying to get a white elephant thing going and thats not working so well.. so a party would be like killing ppl i think!

dh work,, unsure..if they do,, i dont care to go!
