I think she's suddenly afraid of the dark. Today I put her down, and just like she has the past two nights, she started screaming after I left. After 15 minutes or so, I went back in there, gave her her pacifier, and just tried to soothe her. I thought something might be hurting, so I walked back out to the front room, expecting her to cry some more once I left. But she didn't. The only difference from before was I left the hall light on. So I gave her the tylenol, and left the bathroom light on (so it wasn't as bright...and is only one lightbulb instead of two like the hallway) when I left. No crying. I went to check on her about 10 minutes afterwards, and she was out.

So I guess I'm going to be leaving a light on for her until she falls asleep from now on.

Britt both my boys are scared of the dark. I have those little plug in lights with low light but enough to make them feel better. I dont know why both of mine are scared of it. But both of them were in NICU and theres always light.

Good luck.....

Yeah, I'd get a little nightlight for her...but...there's no place to plug one in. The area she's sleeping in is basically a storage room, so there's no outlets in there. So the bathroom light will do for now. Hopefully that's really what it is and she goes down easier tonight!

I just can't figure out why she'd suddenly be acting this way the past week...
