I have these "volunteer" flowers growing all over the place in my yard. Really pretty pinky/red flowers. I pulled quite a few of them out before I realized they would flower!! But once I saw what they were turning into I stopped pulling them out.

They are all around the patio and the dog's area. I sent a pic of them to my mom, who thought they might be nicotiana. They do look like a variety of that . . . and then I thought since nicotiana is a flowering tobacco . . . and that's where DH mostly smokes (I've been making him smoke outside for years) . . . and he'd been smoking an organic brand to be nice (although I still wish he'd quit) . . . So I wonder if DH by tossing the butts out there has accidentally planted me some flowers??

So are you going to dry some of them and have him smoke them? That way you would know for sure...

I suggested that to him! I don't know if he'd actually try it though! He did look up the plants on wiki and said to keep them, apparently they are good for repelling insects. We haven't had too many mosquitoes lately so maybe??
