I'm a bit excited because I'm really thinking I may not have it this time around. I will still check my sugar levels the rest of the pregnancy though because I have every risk factor for getting it except one. The odds are against me and I really really want to beat it this time.
It's a 420ml Lucozade energy drink (I have to buy and bring) and they will take a sample before and after the test. It's a 2 hour test. I acutally did it myself last week and 2 hours after my sugar level was 124. So we shall see what happens.
Then after that, we get our nursery furniture!!!! Can't wait!!
Thanks, I can't wait to get it over with! However, my husband keep taking my lucozade......arghhhhhhh!!!
I bought 2 last week to do my own test and then I bought a big bottle for my test. Left it on the counter and the next morning it was missing. Found out he took it, he was with me when I bought it, and called him a theif...lol He said I thought you took the test. Yes for myself but I told you I had to buy a bottle for the real test. So I bought a 6 pack on sale yesterday and put 2 in the fridge and there was a half empty bottle from my own test.
He calls me up on the phone this evening and says you know there was a bottle of lucozade in the fridge half empty???? I'm like yeah, it was from my home test. He says, was it lucozade????? I should have told him straight away that it was a urine sample.
I don't know how he drinks that stuff, it's horrible!
Thanks Victoria. When I had GD last time I had to keep my sugar level under 120 2 hours after my meals. So I've just been testing my sugar every so often to see where I stand. I don't know what the guidlines are with the lucozade because that is a real sugar load and I don't normally do that. So I'm thinking the 124 should be good.
