Okay, so I LOVELOVELOVE Jenny Lake. It's honestly got to be the most gorgeous place on the planet. I suppose it helps that it's so special to me and my family, but still, it's just breathtaking sometimes.

These are the Grand Tetons. They were carved out by a massive glacier. And, actually, the land is still rising in a "rebound" from the weight of all the ice.

We stopped at the Grand Teton National Park visitor's center in Moose, WY. There they have displays with the pelts of wild animals that you can touch. Erin and her little friend Myla LOVED these.
(a shot of Erin's new shoes)

Myla and some pelts

Erin and Myla and the statue of the cougar (with the wild cat and dog pelts. They liked the statue more)

She climbed up herself.

So then we went to Jenny Lake. It was pretty crowded, but we managed to find a little spot to ourselves. We had picked some wild sunflowers on the way up from the side of the road. I have wanted to do this for a while, since sunflowers make me so happy. You'll be driving along, looking at the drab brownish green landscape and then all of the sudden there will be a splash of bright yellow that feels like the earth is celebrating something. So I wanted to take Cora some happies.

We found this little circular pool that someone had built

And let the babies play in it

Aubrey and me

So then I looked back at one point and saw that a butterfly had landed on Cora's flowers. It seemed like such a beautiful symbol to me. The flowers had been cut, so they were technically dead, but they could still give nourishment and life.

Oh, and there were LOTS of little baby trouts all around us

It was a really good day. I'm so happy I went up. It just lifted my spirit to go.

Oh, and to top it off, on the way home, I am SURE I felt Reeses move. So it felt like even Reeses wanted to be with us today, and celebrate the beginning of his biggest sister's short life. How much better can you get than that?

Britt I just love it everytime you go to Jenny Lake...you always come back with the most beautiful pictures!...I can't believe Erin is getting so big!! And I loved the picture of the butterfly on Cora's flowers... very very very symbolic (especially since the charm that represents my angels is a butterfly...its like Cora came down to see her flowers..)

I know I've told you probably a thousand times, but you are such an inspiration for me Brittanie...and I thank you for that...

Brittanie, those pictures are gorgeous. I think the butterfly is symbolic too. And I think Reeses wanted to let you know he loves you too!!
