I got rear ended today and just now got home from the hospital. I was cramping badly and of course I hit my head on the seat of my car. They didn't even look at my head for some reason. They are worried that the seatbelt caused some internal bleeding because of the blood thinners. They wanted me to have a CT scan on my belly though. 3 doctors agreed that I should have it done. I really didn't want my baby to be xrayed and when I got down to the xray room the radialogist didn't want to xray me either. So he called around and basically said I didn't have to do it. I was relieved, until I got back to the ER room and he said I would have to sign a waiver so if anything went wrong with me or the baby he wouldn't be responsible. WTH? Then he sent me for an ultrasound and the baby looked good, there was no abruption to the placenta, but there could be a tear although they didn't see one. The u/s of my liver and spleen didn't show any fluid around it. My amniotic fluid looked good too. So now I am starting to think I made the right choice. They wanted to keep me around for an extra 4 hours observation, but it seemed pointless since they would only be monitoring me, not the baby. So I left early since I was signing the waiver anyways it didn't matter.

Now I am so upset. I keep hoping that I made the right choice not to have the CT scan done. That is a lot of radiation for my baby. And to be honest if I wasn't pregnant I wouldn't have even gone to the ER at all. I mean I have whiplash, a sore neck and back but I am no longer cramping, I have no bleeding, and I feel good other than emotionally. Why did that fool have to run into me while I am pregnant of all times??? I just hope and pray this baby is ok. I can't take losing another baby, I just can't.

Thanks for listening. I am just so scared now.

I'm sorry that you had to go through all of that. I'm glad to hear that you're at home though.

My thoughts and prayers are with you that everything is as good as it seems and nothing was missed.

Im so sorry you had to go through that while pregnant!!!! But i think having the ultra sound done was probably the best thing for you and your baby... Im sure they would have spotted anything that would affect your baby. I am like you and wouldnt have even gone to the hospital if i wasnt pregnant..

Im sure things are fine..

Keeping you in my prayers though!

Thanks girls, you always make me feel better. I am sore but "I" feel ok, however I haven't felt hannah this morning like I normally do and I am freaking out. Its times like this I wish I had a doppler. I called my family dr. to have a follow up bloodwork to make sure I am not bleeding inside but they can't get me in until tomorrow at 4:15pm. Wth? If I am bleeding internally I will be dead by then. So anyways I haven't felt her moving so I called the OB. They said the u/s looked great. They want me to eat breakfast, drink something sugary, and lay down for an hour to see if I can get her to move. So thats what I am doing. I will update later, when i know more. Thanks for all your kind thoughts!

I just got back from the OB and once I got there she decided to start moving, wouldn't you figure. But thats ok because I got to listen to her heartbeat and it was a nice steady pace and then we heard many movements, although I didn't feel that many of them. She was a very active little girl, bless her heart. I am feeling much better now. The dr. said that if I was bleeding internally (liver or spleen) that I wouldn't be here today and she said after 24 hours then I am pretty much in the clear. Also she said if there was complications with the placenta that I would probably have some bleeding and I don't, so that is another good thing. I feel so much better after going to the OB. I was so afraid of what they would say when I got there. She wants me to keep my feet up and take it easy, not exactly bedrest, but maybe modified bedrest. My next ultrasound is scheduled for Thursday and she said that would be perfect, so I can't wait to see my little girl. only 2 more days!! Thanks for all your help!!

maybe after the accident, she turned around. I remember w/ Gretchen for about a week or so I could bearly feel her (I think she was facing my back), then she must have turned because I could totally feel her again.
