My RE has me on Endometrin suppository once a day (at night). But everything I've read talks about taking it twice a day. I'm going to call and ask about it, but has anyone heard of taking it just once a day?
Also I am taking it just because progesterone was low last time. I haven't had it checked this time. Do you think I should get it get my blood level checked? Or not worry over it, since I am taking the supplements? My RE didn't say anything about it. The only bloodwork she did was hcg and tsh.
i took progesterone suppositories once a day for the first trimester while pregnant with Thea. i started them as soon as i found out i was pregnant b/c that is part of my pregnancy plan from my ob due to recurrent loss. i started the suppositories without testing my levels. the only time my progesterone levels were checked this pregnancy was when i had bleeding, and that was after i had already been taking the suppositories for a week or so.
I don't know, hun. I did injections, and they only started me on that because they did run the blood work and my progesterone was low. I hope someone else can be more helpful. Sounded like Kristie had good info for you.
I'm on prog supp's again and take them 2x a day. What's the dose of yours? 100mg or 200mg? That could perhaps have something to do with it. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Your RE specializes in fertility issues and I'm sure has given out plenty of Rx's to know what they're doing.
I was on them the first trimester. 200mg once a day, right before bed time. I had my levels checked before starting them. If you are already on them you dont need them checked I wouldnt think, but if it gives you peace of mind go for it!!!
Ok, whew, I called and my RN (her name is Bobbie ) called me back right away. She said that the 100 mg once a day is their standard and that it works well and is plenty. She also said I don't need to get my blood checked for the levels since I am already taking the supplement. She was very understanding about it and helped me feel better that I am doing exactly what I need to be doing.
i was put on 100mg prog 2x a day after i had my first spotting when i was 8 weeks...Then it went to 1x a day at 12 weeks.. then every other day at 13.. and at 14 i stopped....
they didnt check my levels.. i asked to be put on it... and the Dr. wasnt very encouraging in saying that it would help anything since you are supposed to take it as soon as you find out you are pregnant.. I dont know if it did help.. But im still pregnant and it made me feel better that i was at least trying SOMETHING...
Maybe they had me take it 2x a day because id started later than i should have.. I really dontk now.. But im sure your Dr. knows best.. and i also know it feels good to at least be trying something that might help keep that little pea in place..

I was on the pill form of 200mg once a day. They never checked my levels at all...just put me on it to hopefully stop the spotting. It worked I was on it till about 14 weeks.

Welp, I only took my progesterone once a day(I think around 100mg too), but my RE did check my progesterone levels every couple weeks. But, I know different doctors do things differently, and I'm sure either way is perfectly reasonable. Also, I was weaned off of it around 11-12 weeks.
