We just got back from Thea's appointment.
He checked her heart murmur and said it is still there and easy to hear. he rated it a 3 out of 6 on loudness. So he has referred her to Riley's where she will get and EKG and nd echocariogram to see what exactly is causing the murmur. We are hoping that this is something that corrects itself, but the doctor said it was loud enough to warrant getting checked out by the pediatric cardiologist. the appointment for that is October 3.
However, he was happy to see that Thea is growing well. She has grown three quarters of an inch in length and is now 20.25 inches long and weighs 7 pounds 9 ounces (up from 6 pounds 4 ounces at birth and 5 pounds 12 ounces upon leaving the hospital). That is a good sign that she is thriving and that hear murmur is not causing any problems currently. He still wants to find out exactly what is causing it in case there are any problems later.
He also said everything else looks good and i have healthy little girl overall. She is still on the small side, but that is also not a problem, especially since she was small when born. she is in the 12% for weight and the 25% for height. but he showed me her growth curve and it is definately going up. makes me feel good about breasfeeding & now i know she is getting enough to grow well.
Shes growing great!! thats what every mommy wants to hear. i hope she out grows the heart murmur. sometimes children do. my cousin had one at birth and its gone now. so you never know. i so glad shes doing good.
