I had my 1st u/s at 6w4d and we saw a hb. I think sometimes you see it around 6 weeks and sometimes it takes until 7 weeks, not sure though. When is your first appt?

My doctor told me between 6 and 7 weeks usually, which is why he is making me wait till 7 weeks for a scan x

My U/s appt is on the 29th from my LMP I will be 6 wks 2 days, but I think closer to 5 wks 4-5 days I am debating call them and pushing it t face another week or so after. After a blighted ovum in May I cannot face another empty scan.

I think you are right to wait a little longer if your only 5w4-5d at that point. When I went in they didn't see the hb and caused me all kinds of stress for no reason. I have found out since then that I have an anterior placenta which can make the hb harder to find, and this is common, so IMO I would try to wait it out until closer to 7 weeks. I was told that it should be seen between 6-8 weeks. I have also had a blighted ovum in the past and I felt like this was a repeat, but here I am over 27 weeks now.

For most when the HCG betas reaches over 10,000, a hb can be detected. This can be as early as mid 5w or as late as 7w. However it also depends on the u/s equipment in the office. My Ob prefers 7w-8w.

I saw this baby h/b at 6w5d. I do agree that if you ate only going to be 5w 4-5d when you go, I would wait a bit longer, at least a week an a half, just to make sure that they will be able to see the h/b.

I went in for my 1st u/s at what I thought was 5 wks and they seen heartbeats, but, I also found out that I was 6w2d. So to ease alot of fears if you are sure how far along you are I would say 6wks.
