Okay, so I recently decided to get Bucilla felt stocking kits for all of us, so that we can have matching stockings. I got one for me, DH, Erin and Reeses. And I got one for Cora too, because the whole family was getting one and I didn't want to leave her out.

DH and my sister both think that's really weird. DH actually said "I don't know if you should have bought her one...." He made it sound like he thought it was a waste of money.

Was that a weird thing for me to do? I'm not planning on putting any toys in it or anything. Maybe write her a letter to put in it...

Britt thats normal! i have one for William and Lexi. So does my parents. even tho they arent here in present, they still come to visit. so for them to see a stocking with their names on it, it makes them feel needed and wanted. that we didnt forget about them!

Britt screw what people think. Cora is family to. Make one for her as a token of your love for Cora...

I dont see anything wrong with you wanting to reconize your angel. Even though she isnt here with you doesnt mean she isnt any less part of your family. I dont do the stocking for Samantha or the other baby but only because I never thought about it but I do light candles for them and have an ordament on the tree for samantha. We all do our own little things to remember our angels. It can be hard for someone like your sister to completely understand it when she hasnt gone through it personally but dont let anyone make you feel wrong for reconizing your angel. About DH isnt kind of hard for the guys to truely understand it because they didnt really get to feel the bond of the baby when we're the ones carrying them. I would say do what makes you happy in your heart to include Cora and dont let anyone try to make you feel silly for doing it.

I think it's great you included Cora, how could you not?

People get stockings for just decoration (not for anyone) or for their pets even. Getting one for Cora just makes sense to me.

i have an ornament i made for each of my babies that i hang on the tree each year.
my best friend's first son was stillborn at 38 weeks due to placental abruption, and she puts up one those little trees each year for him and gets new ornament each year. her three old knows that is Wyatt's tree. it is a great way to include him in their holidays. they also have a cookout each summer for his birthday and family and close friends come.

I don't think it is a weird thing for you to do. I actually got a little teary eyed when you said you would put a letter in it. She is your baby, as much as Erin and Reeses are.

Thanks ladies. I knew you would understand. I explained to my sister what I was going to do with the letters, and she decided that it wasn't so weird after all.

I'm feeling better about it. So thanks for your responses!

I actually love the idea of a special letter for Cora in a stocking. I'm glad when you explained to your sister that she understood more.

I would have done the same thing without question.

I'm just sort of lurking here Brittanie (I'm bored at work and my usual forums are dead lol), but I think the stocking idea is lovely. Cora was a baby, Cora is an angel, why shouldn't she deserve her own stocking?

Maybe something else you could do, is start a collection for Erin, something small like teddy bear figurines or something like that, and put it in Cora's stocking but address it to Erin from Cora. Just something small and sweet.. but would keep the stocking from being empty come Christmas Morning (which personally would make me super sad, but I'm a sap like that).

I hope you post a pic of the stocking when it's done, I would love to see it (and since I stalk the SB forum, I'd probably find it lol).

I agree, we take Damion a tree with a stocking to his grave site every year, what you are doing is the same thing.

dont let anyone make you feel strange about how you remember Cora, she will always be in your mind and heart, and if it makes you feel good to do for her, then do for her.

(((Brittanie))) I think it is a beautiful, very touching thing to do & I'm sorry that your sister & DH don't understand that.

I think it's perfect that you do that. She was your child just as much as Erin or Reeses. You do what you feel is right, don't listen to anyone else.

I agree with the other girls, Brittanie. I don't think it's strange at all. I think it's incredibly sweet, and I love the ideas of putting stuff in it so it's not sad on Christmas morning.
