His mom and I are close, so I buy for his mom. Everyone else is on their own, That's not as cruel as it sounds. BF is an only child with a few cousins to shop for while I have to fit in parents, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, a nephew and only goodness knows how many cousins I keep in close contact. I'm getting tired just thinking about all that gift wrapping.
Both families have pretty much stopped buying gifts for everyone. We usually get together and just do a "white elephant" exchange so we each bring something worth $15-$20. Sometimes we do little stocking stuffer type gifts for people to. If we see something that "calls their name" we may get it and stuff it in their stocking. Everyone still buys for the kids, though. My niece is 17 and my nephew is 3 so they still get plenty of attention. I'm sure this baby will get totally spoiled too.
i used to. even last year i bought for everyone but this year im not doing it! i have bought for my kids, mark (although he it has already and im not buying him anything else!) i have bought my secret santa and my best mate and her 2 kids (just stocking fillers) but im not getting anyone else.
better get used to it as well since next year i will have 7 kids to buy for
Friends are the family you choose yourself and I love my JM sisters!
I only buy gifts for my parents, sister, and DH. My grandparents never want anything. They just tell me to keep my money and use it for other things because they have enough things already.
DH & I just buy $50 Visa gift cards for them. Since we live across the country from each other, it saves a lot of money in shipping costs. If we were to buy gifts and ship them, the shipping ends up costing more than the gift.
DH has not talked to him parents in five years..but since Nathan is here this is the year to get over it. So yes we are buying for them, and my family (mom, dad, brother, sil, 2 neices) and we buy for our friends kids..just a very little.
Thanks Nami for my beautiful siggy!
