We put Nathan in a bassinett in our room which he really does not like during the day he sleeps on the couch on a quilt beside me. I was wondering if you used one..when did you change to the crib?

We used a mini co-sleeper with Naden (the kind that sort of attaches to the bed). He slept in that at night (when he wasn't snuggled up against me sleeping or nursing) and during the day he just slept on the couch most the time. I would just put him on the inside and use the boppy to keep him from falling. He never used his nursery until he was about 6 months. That is when I started attempting to put him in there for naps and at night but most the time at night he would end up in my room. He didn't sleep in his room constantly until he was about 15 months. I really enjoyed cosleeping

mine went in the bassinet inside the crib until around 3 months but sadie would never settle in it. i ended up putting her straight in the crib and she settled without a problem. we discovered that the reason was she couldnt see! in hospital she was a very settled baby as long as she was in the middle of the ward and her eyes were always open but if you put her in the corner she would scream. it was strange and even now i think "how was that possible at a day old" butits true. i found putting the bassinet by a window settled her more because she could look up and see things and if she wouldnt settle in that then she would sleep in her bouncer/rocker!
infact that bouncer was a godsend! she outgrew it by six months (she was huge) but still wanted to sleep in it! eventually she was happy in the travel cot in the sitting room instead.
this is what i mean by she outgrew it. this is her sleeping in it while ill at 6.5 months!

this was her first proffesional pic at hospital less than 12 hours old. she was happy because she could see the "figures" moving round!

20 mins old!

see what i mean about being so alert (and big!)
xx

Erin was 5 months old before we moved her to her crib, lol. She had hit the weight and length limits for it, so I HAD to. And then I wondered what had taken me so long...

We had a cradle set up in our room and she hated it. She slept horribly in it so we moved her into her crib at 1 week old and she was sleeping 5hr stretches at night. We did part time co-sleep from 4am until we woke up so I could nurse her and still get some extra sleep. I plan on doing the same thing this time.
