So, what do these feel like? I never had them with Haley and I never really went through labor with her either...I had minor contractions, but that was all before they had to do the emerg section.

Anyway, last night I had this bad cramping, stomach tightening that lasted a few minutes and then went away. I mean, OUCH! Do you think that's what it was?

Michelle, I think that's what they feel like. I been having the cramping too once in a while, they go away pretyt fast so I know they are not contraction and there is no pattern to it.

The only difference between real contractions and braxton hicks contractions are that real ones change your cervix. My BH this pregnancy have been very painful at times.

But if changing position or drinking water or anything gets rid of them, then they're not real.

And just because they have no pattern doesn't mean they're not real. I spent the night in L&D at 33 weeks with Erin because I had a bad UTI that was putting me into labor. Those contractions weren't particularly painful and didn't really have a pattern either. But they didn't go away and they were softening my cervix, so they were "real."

As long as they go away, you're fine though. Even if it doesn't FEEL fine at the time!
