I posted this in the TTC after miscarriage forum....just wondered about you ladies as well:

Ok so if we're supposedly MORE fertile during those three months after a m/c...how many of you actually DID get pregnant right after a M/C? How many of you got pregnant BEFORE your first AF and still had a successful pregnancy??? My Doc said it's no problem if thathappens and of course the nurse had other thoughts. (told me to wait). We're not really TTC as much as we are just enjoying each other...but we're not taking precautions either. Just curious! Thanks ladies!

After my fist m/c in January I got pregnant in March after one AF . After the second m/c in April (both were at about 8 weeks) we were taking precautions and got pregnant anyway about 3 months later in July. I am now 6 full months with our baby boy and he is very healthy and growing perfectly. We are looking forward to an April baby.

After my frst m/c in May we waited 1 cycle & got pg on the next one. After my second m/c in August we waited 2 cycles & got pg on the next one. So IME I got pg on the first cycle trying. But I'm very fertile & always get pg on the first cycle trying.

One of my best friends had a m/c in Sept & tried in Oct, Nov & Dec and didn't get pg... she decided to wait a while and try again next year. She always got pg really easy like me , so it's hard to tell by someone else's experience. It's different for everyone...

but i have yet to read of someone getting pregnant immediately after a miscarriage and carrying it full term. Everyone seems to have MC at least one more time...... That's not reassuring

Houstons, if it's not reassuring, then maybe it's not a good idea? I do know of people who have gotten pregnant right after miscarriage before the first AF and gone on to have a healthy baby, but I say, why take the chance? Iwas just like you, I wanted to get pg right after my m/c. I think most of the ladies who suffered a loss did.

Thank goodness for DH making us wait. It was about 3 months after my m/c when I conceived, and now if something did go wrong, I wont be thinking, "was it because we tried too early?" I am not trying to tell you that you are wrong to try but I always like to be on the safe side. Good luck to you, whatever happens

It's true- technically, your body IS more fertile after a miscarriage (of course that doesn't mean you'll get pregnant that quickly). Your CM is generally more fertile, your cervix still slightly open, your body more in-tune with a pregnancy (easily resumes the state), etc. Yet your body also knows when it's ready, most of the time.

And I do know MANY women who've conceived before a post-m/c AF and have carried to term. It just depends on so many other factors aside from just the fact of having m/c'd immediately before.

As for me, though, we resumed TTC before a post'-m/c AF both times. Yet it took us 5 months after the first to get pg. again and 5 months after the 2nd for this pregnancy, and this will be my first to term (assuming that I make it without going into labor in the next 4 days.

Best wishes to you!!
