I'd like to know just how old is she? where is the father of these children and how are they being supported?

Um, she's not married, and I read in one article that she worked in a fertility clinic? Why on earth is she doing a fertility procedure when she's got 6 already and living with her parents? I don't know, it seems really irresponsible to me. And unfair to the taxpayers since she's probably on welfare. She declared bankruptcy 2 years ago, how did she afford the procedure in the first place??

There was a pretty good article on CNN yesterday about how that was completely irresponsible and unethical of her RE to allow this pregnancy to even take place...the docs interviewed said that 8 fertilized emrbyos should have never even been transferred...

I have a feeling this is going be getting quite a bit of publicity for a while...

I didn't have too big of a problem with this until I learned more about the situation.

It bothers me that the media is not telling us the mother's age. What's the big deal? Is she like 25-26 with 14 kids??? The oldest kid in that bunch is 7 years old... she also has two year old twins. If you want to have a bunch of kids, fine. Just make sure you have the means to take care of them, because I'm sick of supporting people on welfare.

I really hope she was not on any type of invetro. Sorry if I misspelled the word. She obviously had no problems making babies.

-sigh-

I don't know... I just want to know who the mother is. How old is she? What's her maturity level? Where's the father(s) of these kids?

A friend did tell me today that the father is in the military but will be gone when the babies come home from the hospital. Not sure where she got this info but just thought I would share.

I read something somewhere that said the father was Iraqi and went home to make money....but I don't know where I read it anymore! I thought it was this one

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,485584,00.html

But upon rereading it doesn't say that!

I personally believe that it is socially irresponible to transfer 8 embryos. Thats what ticks me off about the whole situation. Shame on that doc.

I don't think it should be up to the doc to make that decision. Like it said in the first article - they are not the fertility police. Imagine a doc telling you that he won't help you have a baby because he doesn't think you are financially ready. You would be mad. Obviously this case is wrong and anyone can see that but not all cases are like this and who is the doc to say what is right and wrong. I'm sorry but this stupid women (girl I guess since she is so young) should be blamed. She obviously has no brain at all.

I completely agree that the fault is all on the mother. It is very irresponsible for her to transfer soo many eggs when whe can obviously get pg just fine.

I feel bad for the kids. I cannot imagine that 14 kids (with 10 of them being under the age of 3) will get much attention/love from thier mother. She is going to be too busy to really "be there" for her children. The whole thing just seems greedy to me.

The grandmother of all these children is really upset at her daughter.

If this were my daughter, I would not support her decision either and I would not support her and her need to have litters of babies.

I find myself disturbed by that. She's getting a degree in counseling, huh? I don't know that I'd want someone that would make decisions like that to be my counselor. Part of the reason I decided that going to school for psychology was wrong for me is because I needed so much help myself!

^ That flat out disgusts me. It would be great if NOBODY interviewed her. But, we all know how the media is in this country.

So very true. The media is already all over her. It will only get worse.

The worst part is 14 children who are going to be raised on welfare. When you already have 6 children and are single, why put more children in a situation like that. Everyone needs assisatance at times, but she is going to need it forever. And...how can you really raise 8 babies alone? Its just not possible. Poor kids.

Child Protective Services will probably be at her door after the babies are all home from the hospital. As liberal as California is, I still think they have enough morals to know that they cannot let someone like this sit on welfare. You can't get enough money on welfare a month to even care for that many people!!
