Thats so funny that I woke up and saw this. I was on here yesterday trying to give an update and miss Hannah just wouldn't let me. She had a busy day and was fussy afterwards. So here is our update copied and pasted from dec. 08 pr.

Hannah went in for her 2 month check up and got weighed. She is 13lbs 4oz and 22 1/2 inches long! Oh my, she is a big girl! They said her weight is in the 95 %, height is 75 %, and head is 50%. They said she looked great. Then they gave her 3 shots and she was so good. She let out a big cry for about 2-3 minutes but it felt like forever. I felt so bad for her. We gave her a little tylenol to help with the pain and now she is just taking a little nap.

Then my dr. told me that Riley hospital wants to do research on her for diabetes. I guess there is some tests that are supposed to be able to determine if she will become diabetic. Since I am type 1, dh is borderline diabetic (type 2), my 2 sisters have type 1, and MIL has type 2 there is obviously a lot of risk in our family. I wasn't thinking about doing it because really how would that change anything. I would just worry about her getting it if I knew for sure that she would get it, but then I found out there is a drug to slow down the process. It would only be given if the numbers get lower meaning that she is on her way to becoming diabetic. It isn't just given to prevent diabetes or anything, it just holds it off for a little while. So now I am kind of torn about doing it. I don't want her to be a pin cushion or anything. They said it was just a heel stick a couple of times and a follow up every couple years, so maybe. Feel free to give me your opinions. I know it is ultimately up to daddy and me though.

And here are a couple of pics.

Her legs were going crazy but here is one more.

Dee,

Katie is beautiful! Its hard to believe she is getting so big already. Seems like you were just telling us all that your got your bfp.

I know I am really not sure about what I want to do. Its kind of like those tests they do when your pregnant. I mean if it is just going to make me worry more, then why do it? I will still love her and do my very best to keep her healthy and god forbid she does become diabetic I will just cross that bridge when i get to it. Really it won't be the end of the world. I found out I had it at 12 years old and I am still here and enjoying life. Hmmm..I guess I will try to find out more before I agree to anything.

Thank you ! I honestly can not believe she will be 8 months in 10 days she has 3 teeth!

I totally understand what you are saying.....why worry about things now that are really not in our control.....we do what we can to keep them healthy and pray for the best!
you do what YOU think is best !

Rhonda - Hannah is such a beauty!! Thanks for posting an up-date.

I'm not sure what to think about the tests, that would def be something that would require alot of thought and consideration since there are good and bad things about it. I know that isn't a good answer, but I think that the idea should be considered.

So glad you stopped by with your update Rhonda!

Hannah is BEAUTIFUL!! I love the pictures

As far as the testing, I don't know what I'd do in that situation so I can't really offer advice, but wanted wish you good luck figuring out what is best for your family!!

Glad you came by

Thanks girls! Its good to know that you are all on my side! Its great to have that support from you all.

Dee, 8 months already and 3 teeth? Wow that is great. Soon she will be eating a good steak!

Sam and Melanie, I can't believe you girls are already 6+ months along. Its so strange because when I was getting ready to have Hannah both of you were still in the first trimester. Now your almost in the 3rd! Yay!! I missed a lot while I was gone, did you both have the big U/S yet and do you know the sex or are you waiting to find out?
