Topher is 8 days old today and it still seems so surreal that I have a baby.
He is absolutely beautiful! His hair continues to get darker and his faces just get funnier; I especially love the scrunched up angry look, I know he gets that one from Jay!
BFing is going surprisingly well, I just have to wean him off of my nipple shield which I'm a little nervous for. He's a really good eater though, Mommy's Little Sucker!
My mom has been here the entire time and I cry instantly every time she mentions leaving. She'll probably go home this Friday or Saturday, but I really wish she could stay longer. She has been a life saver and I get really scared wondering if I'll be able to handle being a mom without her here to help me.
We've taken lots of cute pics; I'll try to post some soon!
Ashley, so good to hear an update. You are already such a good mommy, I know it's reassuring when your mom is there for you, but you can do it hun.
So happy to hear breastfeeding is going great. I can highly recommend Lansinoh cream, it's pricey but it really helps. I don't use mine anymore as Gabriella and I do great now so I use it as a lotion on really dry skin on her.
I'm so glad Topher is being such a good boob eater!!
And I know its super scary when your mom is there and then she has to leave...my mom just HAD to be there for the birth so she was only able to stay for our first full day home...but I think you will be surprised how natural things are going to fall into place for you and Jay...it'll be like you were always meant to be parents...
