PINK!!!

Yes, DH & I were both surprised to have a girl. We are excited none-the-less! Her name is Carleigh Michelle.

My only concern is a birth defect that was found. Our little girl has club feet. My ultrasound doctor told me that this is a fixable birth defect after the baby is born. I am doing a lot of reading on this defect and our doctor already gave us some referrals for doctors in this area that specialize in cases like this.

Other then that, everything looks great! Carleigh is measuring a week ahead still.

Welcome to team pink!! I knew the girls would start coming after this crazy boy boom we've had around here. Congrats!! I was born with foot problems and my parents had to take me to a specialist. I still walked very early and have never had any effects whatsoever....I would have never even known if my mom hadn't told me about it. Hopefully its just a minor thing for your little one too.

I've heard so many success stories about treatments for that, so I'm sure like Kelly said, she'll make a full recovery! And congrats on the girl! Girls are so much fun!

Congrats on having a GIRL!!!

It sounds like you have a really good attitude about your little one having club feet, and from your post and others' posts, it sounds like there is alot of help out there, and that the feet can be easily fixed. So YAY for that!!

I also LOVE her name!! So cute!

Dang it!! I was sooo thinkin boy! But YAY for some estrogen in here finally!!

Sorry to hear about the club feet...but from what I've read/heard about the diagnosis its fixable and most children go on to lead very normal and very active lives...before you know it you'll have you a little cheerleader doing backflips across the house!!

Congrats again!

just lurking and wanted to say congrats on your little girl. my son was born with club feet. Actually he only had one and he had treatment right away. He was walking by the time he was a year old so there were no delays in his development. He had the Ponseti method to correct it. It is basically a series of casts to turn the foot out and then it may be possible that she will need a surgery to extend her achilles tendon. My son had to have the surgery and no joke - it took us longer to get registered in the hospital than it did for the procedure from the time they took him in till we were talking with the dr. again after it was done and he was in recovery was a total of 15 minutes. They then put a cast on again after the surgery for I think it was six weeks. He then had to wear a brace for 23 hrs a day for three months but it didn't phase him at all. Now he has to wear the brace only at night until he is two and a half but that hasn't been a problem since it has been part of his life since he was six months old.

If you have any question please feel free to PM me as when I first found out I did a lot of research and had a lot of questions but I luckily had a nurse when I delivered that her son had been born with it also.

Again congrats on you little girl.
