I'll probably put it on our registry...but if we don't get one, we probably won't go purchase one...neither of the boys really liked their swings...they LOVED their bouncy seats...and then as they got older they liked being in the Exersaucer...

My SIL gave me her swing. She bought a new one with her last kid, so it's in pretty good shape.

My sister just had a baby in November, so we will use her Bobby Travel swing. DS often slept in his in the beginning, so I would definitely be getting one even if it wasn't from my sis!

I still have DS's swing, it was the ocean wonders aquarium one. I plan on digging it out of the attic. He wasn't a big fan of the swing, but maybe this baby will be!

I'm getting one but I don't know what kind.
Nick loved the swing, Jon hated it and both hated boucny seats.

What actually plugs into the mains? So you dont have to buy batteries? How awesome is that

eta - I just looked on the website and it looks like it may be the US that makes it so you can plug it in, it says on the website how many batteries it requires ect. ugh the UK sucks

Cori loved her swing. It is an older Fischer Price, I think. I'll set it up again for this one, but I do wish I had one that plugs in....we went through tons of batteries too.

We bought a Jungle Safari swing at Target when it was 50% off. I couldn't pass up that deal. Hopefully the baby will like it.

Makenna HATED the swing so we never bought one (my friend has lent us her swing) and I'm hoping Putt likes it. It's a Fisher Price swing and runs on AC Power and Batteries!!! However, we don't plan on buying one, especially since people keep offering us swings.

Here's the one and only time I got Makenna to enjoy the swing. She fell asleep for 10 min...the one and only time!

we won't be buying or asking for one. It is bad for the spine to allow a baby to sleep in one, and if my baby needs comforting I'd rather it be on me (in a carrier) then in a machine.

That's how I felt, too. I never gave her gripe water, soother, I figured if she needed something - I could give it to her. I wanted to be the one that comforted her & stopped her crying. But you learn quickly when you have a colicky baby that that isn't always possible! lol my DD cried from 10pm - 4am EVERY single night for the first 6 weeks of her life. And I mean CRIED. I held her in 15 different positions, I bought a 'miracle blanket', I rocked her, I sang to her, I swaddled her, I unswaddled her, I nursed her, I changed her......it didn't matter. She just wanted to cry and cry and cry. So if letting her swing for a little while (I'm talking 20-30 minutes) would give her some peace..... I'm for it!

The swing was a wonderful investment for DD. She did not like the bouncy seat and wanted to in a more upright position.
I could only hold her for so many hours a day. Especially since I also had a 3 yr old running around who needed my attention as well.

I will definately be purchasing one this time
