After 14 years and 12 losses, they finally found it.
I'm a little shocked and very relieved. I still don't know what treatment other than extra folic acid I have to do.

I'm glad they were able to give you a diagnosis as to what had contributed to all of your losses. I hope the knowelge gives you some peace of mind. How much extra folic are you taking?

i have it too. I take extra folic acid (2 mg /day) super B supplement, added extra B6 now that i'm pregs, regular vits with Bs a baby aspirin and pretty soon i'll have to start shots. I saw a hematologist last December and finally got the broader picture of what i need to do to ensure the rest of my life is healthy. Most docs really dont know very much so a hematologist is your best bet for well round care of your MTHFR

The OB told me I had it and he's going to get in touch with the Peri to find out what to do other than 1mg folic acid twice a day. I will ask to see a Hemotologist. I have Hetero he didn't say if it was compound but I have one mutation in two genes. I'm having no luck researching it in layman terms.

I don't know what that is...but am happy they figured it out! Sounds like it isn't too bad to manage if folic is the answer.

You must be so relieved to finally have some answers and be starting on a plan for addressing it. You might also ask around at some other boards TTC w/medical assistance or something like that (if you haven't already). Sometimes I find that I get way more info from others on here than I do from the internet or even my doc. Good luck.

i know it is relieving to find some sort of an answer. i am sure the Peri will have a good plan of action for you. and surely one of these docs will refer you to a hematologist.
