Oh, yeah. That seems too close for me too! I never wanted to name my children after anyone but I did give in when DH suggested using his deceased mothers (I never met her) middle name as our daughters middle name. I am prob OK with it since I didn't know her...my opinion wasn't able to be swayed! I would have a hard time with it if, like you, she didn't like me!

I agree with everyone else hunny. I think its a beautiful name tho. Maybe if you tweaked it like since the first name is so close, change the middle name if youre not 100% sold. Or just change the first name lol.
I wouldn't do it either, Katie. Like you said, the woman didn't like you. Why would you name your daughter COMPLETELY after her? I love her middle name though!!! Something funny..my aunt's name is Joyce...her given names are Claire Joyce! But everyone calls her Joyce.
I didn't know you were having a girl either!!! Congrats to you and Dave!!!
I couldn't do it...too close. I love the middle name. I like the first name. But, I don't blame you for not wanting to put them together. Especially if she didn't like you. How about using a name from your side of the family, or a name that is close? Then your little one will have names from both sides? Just an idea.
I think taking Joyclyn out is a good idea....especially if you and your MIL don't exactly get along. I think that giving your lo her middle name is enough. I hope you and dh find a name that works for both of you.
I'm glad to hear the name's out. But I will say that I like Jocelyn better than Joyce. I do hope you can come up with something. Maybe another -Lyn name or another J name? And don't forget to match it up to your last name! We had some issues when we were trying to think up a name for our angel. There are just things you don't put with Bush!
