I have got bronchitis, and for the last week or so I have had a bit of discomfort, but for the last few days I have been running a high temp and been in quite a bit of pain so I have been taking a drug called paracetamol. It is considered safe in pregnancy but I have got antibiotics to take now too. The ones I have got are safe for use in pregnancy. What I am worried about is not the drugs I am taking, but the amount. I have been taking the paracetamol for both pain and to lower my temp for about 3 days now and the antibiotics for 1 day so far. Im worried that it might harm my baby or I might lose my baby because I have had to take all these tablets Please tell me I am being stupid and to stop worrying. The doctor wouldnt instruct me to take paracetamol on a regular basis to keep my temp down if it wasnt safe would she?

Sorry to barge in Kate, I noticed your post in the list. Paracetomol is perfectly ok to take, even for days running. I had to take it for about 5 days running when my IBS was bad during my pregnancy, also another point I took it to keep my temp down as well.

(((((huggles))))) I hope this clears up quickly for you.

Kate honey, I bet the drugs are far better for you to be taking than your fever.

Ditto to the Tracy...A fever is a bad thing during a pregnancy, so it's good that you are taking care of it. I hope you get feeling better soon Huggs

there's no way your doc would give you something potentially harmful to the baby without discussing it with you first, so i'm sure they're safe for you to be taking (and fever sounds worse to me too) HUGS and i hope you feel better soon!!

I had to take antibiotics and fever reducers with my 2nd PG. My son is 10 now and everything was fine. Not taking care of an elevated temp is much more risky. Don't worry. It will be fine. I really hope that you feel better soon! Being sick stinks!
