The HPT I got a positive on was SO FAINT. And same with the next day. So I went and got a different test, AND a digital. Both were positive. Today Den brought the same brand I tested with Devin, so I took that... definite positive, but it's also still pretty light (though darker than the stupid FRER I took, ugh they suck!)

I'm just feeling really paranoid now. When I was pregnant with Devin the line was light the first day, then got progressively darker. I'm at like 16dpo and still getting light lines, ***?

AND I'm in a different country, so I can't go get a beta until next week when I get home. Well I could, but insurance wouldn't cover it and I don't even know where I'd go to get that done.

Arrrggggggg. I am SO HAPPY. But terrified too. I just want to see the line get darker - that's all! If it does, then I will happily just wait. But if it stays light I have no idea what that means! And now I'm over-analyzing all of my symptoms. Yeah, this is going to be fun.

I think it's in our nature to want a guarantee, something that will tell us we WILL get to take the baby home. But...obviously that's not possible. You and I both know that so well, after making it so far but still going home emptyhanded. So we worry. I wish I could give you that guarantee. Heaven knows you deserve it.

First rule...never depend on HPTs as a way to monitor your hCG...dye SUCKS...its diff in every test...even when you buy multi packs the levels of dye in each test might be diff...

Second rule...most docs do betas every 48 hours...thats because thats normally how long it takes for the hCG to double...so take Sunday's test and compare it to todays...any difference?...if todays is lighter than Sunday's then MAYBE you have something to question (not worry about...just question)...if they are about the same or even a little darker...then you are GOOD...

I say...you got a line...YOU ARE PREGNANT

This craptastic road of TTC doesn't seem to ever really get better...once one thing passes then its just on to the next...BUT...try to bask in the glory in between the bouts of worrying...and remember you can ALWAYS come here to vent and we WILL understand...

Since i received a similar lecture from Danielle 3 weeks ago (and she was - of course - right!) i just wanted to add that after taking 10 different FRERs, i went many days with lines that were faint-ish and pretty identical. Don't panic if they haven't gotten much darker yet...wait 4+ days and try again...that will be more likely to give you a clearer difference in results. HUGS

I'm so sorry that you're worrying, but ou can't really rely on PG tests getting darker as a way to tell if everything is going well. (Danielle is right about different de, diluted urine, etc..) I even confirmed that with my OB. I think it gives us POAS addicts something to do in the first few weeks, though If it makes you feel better, wait a few days and test again with a different brand. I didn't have a ton of luck with FRER (I know, I'm not the norm on JM. Everyone else seems to love FRERs.)

But, I don't blame you for worrying. We all do. And this is a great place to vent and worry because everyone is so understanding and supportive!

I will say some extra JM prayers for you. Come on little bean, stick and grow!

If you want a darker bfp, don't pee for four hours. Don't drink a lot of fluids before or during this wait because it will only dilute the hcg, and I would avoid FMU. This should make the test darker. Well, it works for me anyway. Either way, like everyone else said, a line is a line is a line. I know it is hard to stop stressing (I am personally wondering if I will stop testing before I enter the third trimester).

I think I'm going to just stop taking them, since it's only stressing me out and not reassuring me like I thought it would!

I just wanted to add that my pg test never got really really dark with this pg....with my first pg, my lines were crazy dark taking up most of the dye, and with this pg, they never got much darker than the control line. I was also a POAS addict. I had bought a whole slew of test off e-bay, and since they were going to expire last november, I just tested and tested untill they were all gone.

Like the other girls said...you got a line....you are pg!!!!! WhoooHooo!!!
