Another question for you ladies...

It seems as though I'm unfortunately coming down with a bug. I hope it does not last long. My only symptoms right now is a stuffy/runny nose and a cough. However, the cough hurts. GRR!

There is a co-worker who has been sick for the past two weeks. He is working from home right now. I'm sure it's because he doesn't want to get anyone else sick. But, I'm thinking I got his bug for the last few days he was at work before he stayed home again.

Is it a big deal to have a cold/flu during pregnancy?

Pregnancy kills my immune system so I have constant colds whenever I am pregnant. It is actually one of my first symptoms. As long as you aren't running a fever, it should be OK. It just sucks that the only thing you can use the Vicks vapor sticks (for your stuffy nose) and Halls candies. There are other things this link says you can take, but I am leery of taking them. I have had a cold for the last week (it started on the same day I got my bfp - it was part of the reason why I tested), and my chest is killing me, so I definitely feel your pain. Rest up and pamper yourself.

Take care of yourself, get lots of rest, and drink lots of fluids. Colds and flu aren't anything to be too concerned about as long as your temp stays down and you feel better. I had a horrible case of the flu with my 2nd DS and my doc wasn't overly concerned. Get better soon!

I heard Tylenol Cold was okay. I had to take a little bit of it during my first trimester when I got a bug. It really seemed to help.

Last night, I read up on colds and pregnancy and it said that since you're pregnant it ruins your immune system to make sure the baby is okay.

I was told to take Robitussin, sudafed (though not for me because of the bp) and to use a vaporizer or humidifier. It was awful. The coughing was so bad I ended up peeing my pants several times a day. UGH!

Call your Dr don't be stupid like me and wait 2 weeks.

I( currently have a sinus, double ear and upper respitory infection. I'm on Zithromax, Rhinocort, Tussin DM. The Dr wanted to add predisone but my OB said no because it would send my blood sugars up.
I feel like death warmed over. I cough, or sneeze then I pee.

OMG! I pee a little bit when I sneeze now. My sneezes are so strong with this cold. It's so embarrassing.

I see my doctor on Wednesday and I'm pretty sure this cold will not be gone by then, so I can talk to them and see what they can do for me.
