So I'd been having lots of contractions over the last day or two, so I was hoping for good news today at the doctors (nothing like take my breath away, but just lots of uncomfortable-ness). Anyways, he checked me and I am dilated to 2, only 40% effaced, but he said my cervix was really soft. I wasn't terribly upset, although I am getting ready to meet Owen!!
Now, I need to know...anyone have any stories to share with me about being 2 cm or cervix not too thinned out and then having the baby before too long?? I am fine with it not being today or tomorrow (a couple more last minute things to do!), but I don't want to wait 3 or 4 more weeks!!
You are so close, I hope you get to meet Owen before Mother's Day.
I went a week 1cm dilated, then when labor started I was at 5 in three hours.
I have heard sex is a really good way to get things started.
With my first son, I went in for my weekly appointment (the week I was due) on a Monday, and was a one. The next week I was overdue and was a 2, and 5 days later he came. I hope your little Owen doesn't make you wait too long! Mother's Day would be an amazing present!
My doctor told me I was about where you are when I was about 38 weeks, and I said okaaay what does that mean? Soon? and he said "within the next week or two" I cried. LOL I wanted her out soo badly. I ended up being induced at 41w2d.
Hoping it comes sooner for you!!

Melanie - when I was pregnant with David. I went in for my 41st week appointment, the doctor literally told me "from down here you don't even look pregnant"
I went into labor on my own less than 24 hrs later.
At least you have some changes...some ladies go all the way till labor with nothing...
I unfortunately...I only have bad news...with Keegan I was 3cm dilated, 100% effaced, and -1 station from 32 weeks on thanks to a PTL incident right at 32 weeks...so granted had I not gone into full blown labor that early I probably wouldn't have been that advanced...he still wasn't born until around 38 weeks...
Hopefully this little one doesn't do that to you!!
