I had my 37 week appointment today and doc checked me. I am 2 cm and 50% effaced. After my appointment, I started getting some back pain and thought it was just some irritation from getting checked. I went to dinner with DH and then to a baseball game. We were only at the game 5 min before I knew we needed to get to the hospital. We went to L&D (I threw up from the pain in the parking lot and they came running out with a wheelchair). I told them right away that I didn't think it was labor, but kidney stones, but they still had to run a NST. Little miss decided not to cooperate so the NST took way longer than it should have. They decide that despite contractions that are 2 min apart, I'm not progressing and probably not in labor. Finally, they sent me to ER to check out my kidneys....all the while I'm still vomiting from the extreme pain. ER takes their sweet time, but they get me some morphine and do an u/s. Baby looks great and apparently I too have more than enough amniotic fluid. They see a stone on the right side, but the left side is where the pain is. They determine that I probably already passed the problem-causing stone. So, now I'm home waiting it out to see if it happens again. They also told me some of my liver function tests came back abnormal, but I don't have to call until Monday for a recheck so it must not be too much of a problem.
On a good note, our kitty who has been missing since we had a major thunderstorm on Monday night, was waiting for us in the driveway when we got home! Cori doesn't know yet because she is staying over with SIL, but she'll be so happy!
Sorry so long....please send me "no more kidney stone" vibes!
This is Kellys' SIL, and she is back at the hospital this morning. I think DH is at home to try to sleep, as he slept 1 hour since Friday morning. We have Cori, and hopefully Kelly can come home today without kidney stones!!! We love you Kelly!!!
