I cant believe it. I was so positve about this pregnancy, but this a.m I started brown spotting and balled my eyes out. I got an emergency ultrasound and there was still a heartbeat! 160. But I am spotting so thats not good. I just want to be at peace with this pregnancy, and have a baby!!! Is that TOO much to ask?????? I am still crossing my fingers, but now with this spotting, I am reminded to panic every time I look....
Please Ricey, hold on. Wish us luck.

I'm sorry about the spotting, it can be so scary no matter what color it is. Now, the good news is that you saw a h/b that's great! I had brown spotting and it was just old implantation bleeding. There are some women on this board that had spotting all through their pg.

I had bad bleeding with my boys and this one, it's very scary. You saw the heart beating so that's a positive. (((HUGS)))
Bleeding without cramping is OK.

Well here is the other thing. Cramps are normal too....
You got the u/s today, right? I would say if the cramps or the spotting get worse called your doctor. Also, take it easy, drink plenty of fluids. KUP

I'm sure you're worrying, but, for now there is nothing to worry about. The h/b is awesome! Definitely in the normal range. And, brown blood is old blood. So, it could just be that with the increase of blood flow to the area, something was irritated and bled. It could be blood left from implantation. And, the cramping can be completely normal. Stuff is stretching. Put your feet up, drink lots of fluids and notify the doc if the cramps get worse or the blood turns red and becomes worse. Two of my sisters bled through their entire PGs and their kids are 16 and 21 now! I'm thinking of you and hoping everything turns out great for you and your little Ricey!

When will you return for an appt? Maybe you could express your anxiety to your doctor and can be seen often? I have been able to go in weekly (for labs, exams, or u/s) and it has saved my sanity!
What did your doctor say about the spotting?

Brown spotting is old blood and it could be from your uterus getting bigger from the baby growing and moving some old stuff around and getting rid of it, I had some brownish pink spotting a week ago and it went away but its always nervewracking, its good there is still a strong heartbeat but be positive (hugs) keep us posted.

thanks girls. so hard to be relaxed!!! Seeing my riceys heartbeat twice now has really made me attached!! ;-)
I dont have an OB yet, so I am dealing with specialty nurses at early pregnancy unit for now. My GP hasnt proven to be very helpful or compassionate so I dont bother her anymore....
By chance I have another u/s on june 8th, so I wil have another update then. In the meantime, I want to stop cramping and spotting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know its so scary. I always hate that site. With my first and with this one I have spotted and cramped almost the entire first trimester. So far baby looks great and the spotting has stopped. Hang in there. I know it's hard.

I spotted and bled into the 2nd trimester. I also had cramping so bad along with red blood that I went to the ER. As you can see from my Siggy Matthew was just fine. It's so hard to relax, but blood doesn't=miscarriage all the time. Hang in there. Yay for another u/s soon!

Hun, cramping is normal too. I am glad it's old blood and not new. Lay down and rest as much as possible.

I had spotting through all mine and only with the third that we lost was it bright red with the cramping. Even when I called with no bleeding but cramping they said that was normal to have some cramping. There is a lot going on down there. Brown blood is not usually something to worry about. I was always told to lay down and rest and drink lots of water. Lots and Lots of sticky dust being sent your way. Let us know and a heartbeat is good .

I have had lots of spotting episodes during this pregnancy hun, and my little lady is doing just fine! Im sure your baby will be ok too, it is scary though to see blood.

Well let's all hope for a sticky ricey. I know I'm very fond of sticky rice myself. In anycase, worry always makes it worse. Of course, here I am at 24+w waking up and listening for the hb on my doppler because Baby Girl was very quiet at night. But keep in mind, we all know that spotting doesn't always equal miscarriage. In fact we probably know someone (ourselves included) that had some spotting at some point during their pregnancy only to go on and have a happy healthy baby! We always worry. If we didn't, we wouldn't worry when they babies come and want to grow up. Terrible moms we'd be!!

I`m sorry about the spotting and cramping. I`m glad they`ve stopped. Like the other ladies said, it can be completely normal and brown blood is old blood.
