I'm reading what to expect the first year, and I normally read one month ahead - Same as I did with the expecting books.

I read the What to Expect while Expecting book. I usually read for the entire month most of the time but I read it several times. Then I glance over the next month. My dr also gave me a book to read so I read that as well.

I have what to expect the first year, I read month by month but I also skip ahead if the topic that I'm looking for is in another month. I also have another book, about what to expect the first 5 years, so for that one I read a bit at the time, I don't skip ahead.

I always look at "What to Expect..." I read ahead, skip around, look back. Kind of depends on my mood. I use the index a ton in order to find topics I want stuff on. The funny thing is that I have one of the first editions. The chick on the front was dressed a little like Holly Hobby! I got a new one from my OB. She has definitely been "updated".
