My blood pressure today has been weird. Plus I have been breathless off and on all day. I had preeclampsia with my first daughter and I freak out when I know I probably shouldn't. Anyways, today my pressure was running between 135/88 up to 150/95. I'm not sure if that's bad or not but when ever it was going up I would notice that I could feel my heart racing and my pulse all day has been over 100 all day. But when the pressure was up I would find that I was breathless. I dont know if I'm being parnoid or what.
I was told by the doctor that if my pressures are over 150/90 more than once in a day (and they dont' go down) I need to go in. If you pressures aren't normally high, I'd recommend calling your doc or L&D. I am very wary of hbp though, as that contributed to my loss, so I watch it closely.
I'd give the doc a call. If nothing else, to ease your worries or be seen if necessary. I had pre-eclampsia with Joey. I don't blame you for worrying. I know that one thing they take into consideration when looking at blood pressure during PG is where your bp starts out. They'll be able to give you some answers tomorrow. Let us know what the doc says. Until then, stay hydrated and if possible, lay on your left side . Take care. I'm thinking about you. Update us soon!
Thanks ladies. I'll call first thing in the morning and see what they say. I do know that all my blood pressures up till now have been perfect. That's the one thing I always ask about when I'm there. Thanks again and I'll post more tomorrow.
Don't forget, if you bp goes above 150 and/or over 90 again, there is alwas someone on call. Don't be afraid to call and leave a message. Other things to look for in Pre-E is excess water retention/swelling (particularly in the face I was told), rapid weight gain in the last week or so, headache, and also the racing pulse can be a sign too. Not to scare you, but it doesn't hurt to call. I just worry excessively when it comes to blood pressure during pregnancy.
I'm still waiting for them to call back. I have to leave for work now so I decided that if I dont hear from them before I start my shift that I'm going to call the after hours dr. I'm so upset because they have never taken so long to call back. I'll let you all know something as soon as I know something. By the way I've taken my pressure all day and it has stayed below 90 today. But my head is still killing me. Thanks again.
