OK... I haven't filled a bottle in years! And, of course, I didn't save any of them. There seems to be a ton out there!

For those of you who are using bottles or plan to use bottles, as the primary type of feeding or for supplementing when necessary, what kind should I look at?

Well, when I didn't have a dishwasher I used platex with disposable liners. I personally like the Avent bottles, but they are a little pricey. I loved the Platex Ventaire bottles for newborns. I've also heard great things about the Dr. Browns bottles.

I just recently bought a tommee tippee 'closer to nature' steriliser, so I am going to be trying the bottles that came with that. If baby does'nt like them or if they are no good then I will be switching to Avent

Tanith really liked the Gerber Nuk Orthodontic silicone nipples. And they were wide mouth, which made them easier to clean. She also liked the Avent ones.

I am planning on using the Playtex drop-ins.
I really liked them when I used them 6 years ago.

Since I'm EBF and only need a bottle the random few times I leave Patrick (only once or twice so far), I'm just using the cheap Parent's Choice BPA free kind.

I will only need a bottle when I leave for long periods of time for births.... I will use glass bottles with BPA free nipples.

Wow! There are a ton of bottles out there! Will the bottles list if they are BPA free? BPA wasn't an issue when I used bottles 8 years ago :0 Thanks for your input. At least from your suggestions I have a place to start my "comparisons". What would I do without you all ?

more and more things are starting to list bpa free right on the packaging, so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Yeah, I think now most baby bottle (at least) are BPA free. I use the Medela bottles since I am pumping and the pump comes with bottles, they are also BPA free.

I used Dr. Browns for Benjamin and will be using the same ones for this baby. I swear by Dr. Browns and won't use anything else.

certain brands are all BPA free- a google search will bring up tons. All the medela ones are, and of course glass is always BPA free. For me- I'm uncomfortable with heating anything plastic, so I will only go with glass and stay away even from the bpa free.

For leftovers I only put things into plastics (also BPA free) when they are room temp or cold, then transfer to glass pans or stainless steal pots for reheating again. There are a LOT of enviromental factors contributning to the poor health, high cancer rates and poor quality of life so I always do my best to stick away from risky things.
