What are you getting/planning for daddy? (I admit it. I really need ideas!)

Well DH already picked out his father's day present and it's in the mail. Should be here by the weekend. It's called a mini masseuse. He has lots of aches and pains in his neck and back and my dad bought one last weekend and DH loves it. So that's what he's getting.

Well dh told me for Mother's day that we shouldn't do anything because Alex was not old enough, and he said that he did not care about doing anything for father's day, so we probably won't be doing anything. He's mom is coming next Tuesday, so probably we will be cleaning. I did buy him a Bat house for our garden. We have been trying to grow an organic garden for a while so I hope he likes it.

ohhhh Patty, That stinks that DH said that to you! You should definatly been celebrated that day! Becoming a Mamma and the first few months are hard work! But at least you have a beautiful little boy to love up on!

I ordered DH a calendar with differnt pics of him and cecil on it each month. I can't wait to give it to him. Other than that, I don't think we will be doing much. Sunday is the last day I have with Cecil before going back to work, so I think we will celebrate Father's Day on Saturday, so I can be REALLY selfish with Cecil on Sunday!

Oh Sam, I'm sorry you already have to go back to work. Where Is Cecil going to stay?
I actually got to spent the whole day with Alex and my aunt, so it was a good day either way.

I know patty, I am REALLY not looking forward to going back to work I've been pretty stressed about it. I did find a very nice daycare though. The lady that will be looking after him is a doll. She even does little craft projects with the newborns - Like turn their little hand prints into a lion and things like that. I really wish I could stay at home, but without my job, we would loose our house, and not be able to pay most of our bills. With me working, we can keep the house and afford to send Cecil to the best daycare in our town. (it cost about as much as our house payment, but it's worth it)

I know what you mean, I had to go back to work because otherwise we shouldn't be able to afford our house. Are you still going to be BF? Let me know if you want to talk about any of these. I been at work for almost a month now, so if you need anything please let me know.

The only ? I have been thinking about is how much breastmilk I should take to the daycare each day...how much does a newborn normally drink. I have only given a bottle once, and he took 3 oz. He weighs about 10 lbs right now...I don't know if that makes a difference in how much he should drink. It's hard to know how much he is getting right now while he's bf....it's not like there is a measing device in there!

Sorry Kelty for getting off subject.....

I have no idea. It's even harder for me because DH's birthday is the Wednesday after Fathers' Day, so I have to come up with two ideas! I think one of them will be a gift certificate to a local bookstore. Otherwise I'm lost.

I got him a clay impression of Hayden's foot and hand print, that also has a picture cutout. It is super duper cute! I can't wait to see his reaction!

Well, he got a Wii game. He chose it and he's already playing it (Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings). lol. And a card from me and one from the babies. And I'm making a special chocolate cake.

Not much else.

Patty and Sam... don't worry about it. But, Patty, I think you should have been celebrated on Mother's Day!!! Sam, I can't believe you already have to go back to work I'm glad you found great care. And, you'll have to share pics of some of the craft projects! They sound adorable! Start a Rubbermaid container to save all of that stuff in. Or, if you're short on space, take pics of all of the little projects so that you can "save them" forever!

Karissa - Oh, a double whammy! I can't imagine trying to think of more than one or two things at a time for DH!

Cheryl - At least I'm not alone I can't think of anything great or creative. Maybe I'll make his favorite dessert (Eau Claire Torte)and think of something else... ugh

Brittanie- I love the Wii! And, it's funny that DH is already using his gift. I don't think we have that one. I just asked Robbie and he said we only have the Indiana Jones lego game. Maybe you have an idea there....hehehe

Victoria - You have to let us know about daddy's reaction to your adorable gift!

Sarah - I can't believe you have all of that stuff for Mark... especially after everything you've been going through!!!! I love the t-shirt idea!

I had mugs made for both our dads with the grandkids on them and had two made for Dave... one with all the kids and one with just him and Matthew that says "Our First Father's Day Together" They are big mugs and you can do a collage of 15 pictures on each.

I waited too long though and had to pay for next day shipping. They should be here today or tomorrow. I can't wait to see how they turned out. I know our Dad's are going to love them too. No one has ever had mugs made in the family. I have one of my own from when my kids were 2 and 5. I STILL use it. They hate it...LOL They are 14 and 18 now! I can't wait for Sunday to give them to them.

DUH! I should have said that huh?

Good old Wal-Mart $12.50 a mug plus crazy shipping... I got all four for $90 not too bad but I could have saved around $33 if I got my butt in gear earlier
