Hello All! I am new to this site. After reading some of the posts, it seems like a great site for support & to hear about success stories. I am about 6.5 weeks pregnant after a m/c in Dec. '08 in which I had a D/E. I had an ultrasound visit yesterday only to find out that it seems as though there is no fetal pole or HB. My gestational sac is growing as it should, but the yolk sac seems to be getting smaller. They are going to check my levels again tomorrow. I have lost all hope at this point that I will ever be a mom. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

Oh honey, I am so sorry for your loss and I know kinda what you are going through. I lost 2, and started to think it was just not meant to be, but as you can see I was wrong.

I hope that maybe the timing is off a little, and that things will turn out just fine. Many doubling vibes coming your way. Please let us know how it goes.

Tresa,
I'm sorry your appointment news has you worrying. Will they get you the results of your blood tests tomorrow? I would hate to hear that you have to wait! I'm sorry for your loss in Dec. I hope you get some answers tomorrow. But, don't give up! Update us as soon as you can. And, congratulations on your PG!! Welcome to PAL. I think you'll find the support and encouraging stories here. Looking forward to getting to know you

Ok, so I just got my levels back. They went from 28,000 to 42,000. I'm waiting to speak to my Doc to see where we go from here. Hopefully, we will do another ultrasound soon. Any suggestions on why the levels are going up if nothing appears to be developing? I'm so confused!

an u/s at 6.5 weeks is still pretty early. i had an u/s while pregnant with Thea at just over 6 weeks and we saw the sac and that is about it. 2 weeks later we saw a beautiful heartbeat!
and as far as success stories go, i had 4 m/c before having Thea. i really believed that i would never have a baby & yet, here she is!
it is good that your #s are going up, it might have been to early to see everything, this early a few days can make a big difference.
welcome to PAL!

Welcome to PAL!
Sounds like things are looking up for this pg. I will pray for your little bean. Like others have said, 6 weeks is still very early to see much. Do you get another u/s soon?

If your EDD were off by a few days, this early it could make a big difference. I got an u/s at 5.5, and all they could see was the yolk sac, I went back a week later to a baby with a hb. My Dr. estimated me being a week farther along than I really was.

Good luck on Friday!

Same thing happened to me....I dont put much into betas. My first pregnancy betas didn't always double....they warned me to expect another m/c. He was born healthy and full term last year. This time, my betas were high and they told me that should be able to see something on u/s. They saw nothing but the gestational sac at 6 or 7 weeks. Dont let their information scare you! Betas, ultra sounds are a great way for diagnosing things....HOWEVER they can also be a great source of anxiety.
Any new news since your last post? Did I miss it?

Hi and welcome!

I also experienced a lost in Dec. 08. It was devastating.

I'm glad to hear your numbers are up! Good luck with the next u/s.
With this pregnancy I had an u/s at 6w1d. All they detected was the yolk sac and beginning of a fetal pole. At my next u/s we saw the h/b! I pray the same happens to you. PAL is so very scary.

Thanks for all the support Ladies! I had my u/s on Friday & this time we saw the embryo! Things were much larger this time, although I still don't know what I am looking at. I will go in sometime this week to have my HCG levels checked again. Hopefully, they are going up! My next u/s is on Monday, 7/6. The Doc said we must see the hb then. I am praying that we do!

I'm glad things seem to be moving forward. And, Monday will be here before you know it (although the wait is sooo hard). I'm thinking of you and saying a little prayer. KUP!

Thanks for all the support! My levels have gone down from 42,000 to 16,000. My Doc said I should m/c on my own this time. Now I'm just waiting for it to be over. I'm so upset, I don't understand why this is happening. I am hoping that DH & I can go for testing to make sure nothing is wrong. This will be my 2nd m/c after a loss in Dec. 08.
