Ok well I had the U/S yesterday (sorry I didn't update - I was pooped & went to bed straight from work)...

They saw no heartbeat - but I am still very early. The gestational sac was 4cm & he said we should see a heartbeat at the nest appt (a week from tomorrow). He sais the implantation site was excellent & that the size is in keeping with being 4wks which is about where I thought I was..and he put me on 100mg of prometrium (progesterone) 4 times a day & a baby aspirin. He said although the mc's haven't been due to me most likely, there is no harm in making sure we avoid any additional problems, especially when he believes these things to be harmless if not needed.

So - not super exciting, but not bad either. I got to see the sac - just a black circle - but it was there at least & he said it was a good size. I'll take it for now.

I remember I had one done at almost 5 weeks. It was just a little dot as well, but it was the best, sweetest little dot I ever saw. I still have that one up on the fridge. I hope you will see a hearbeat next week. Your doc seems to have things well in hand.

They barely saw my babies heartbeat at 6 weeks so I would not even bat an eyelash!

Go baby Go
Keep growing little one.

Congratulations on the uneventful apointment.

I just wanted to add don't be suprised if you don't see a heartbeat at 5 weeks. There is no reason for concern if you don't see one that early. Some people don't see a heartbeat until 8 weeks and I've heard of as late as 9. so don't jump to any conclusions.

Good luck.
