Hi,

I've had my D&C yesterday and I'm doing fine......well.....I'm still crying when I see babies and such, but I'll be ok....

Anyways.....dh and I do want to get pregnant again really soon and hate the thought of having to wait until I've had one af.....

My doctor said to wait one af and then we could try.....

When I asked if we could ttc without waiting for af he just looked at me with this "It's your choice" look on his face, so practically not telling us no, but not giving the ok either.....

We would love to bd again soon.....haven't done it for weeks now and we're so not used to abstinence .......but I don't know if it's right.....

Anybody here got pregnant without having af once and it turned out to be all good with the pregnancy ???

Thanks girls !!!!!!!

Diana

Its really is your choice woman have gone one to have healthy pregnancies, but I think the Drs. request to wait is to give your uterus time to heal from the proceedure.
But like I siad it is in your hands.

I think the MAJOR reason for waiting 1 cycle is to give yourself time to heal physically. You are extremely prone to uterine infection, so it is best that nothing is 'in there' at all.... that could get serious.

Hello... I had a d&C on Jan 4 and went in for a check up on Jan. 24 this is when my Dr. gave us the ok. An we did not have a cycle and we are now just about 8 weeks. We saw the babie's heartbeat last week and everything looks good. I am on progestrone injections.
I honestly think it depends on how you feel.

Good luck on your choice.

It's totally up to you. Personally, I would do research on the subject and then make a decision.

Here's a link to a similar question posted recently here. It has other answers, I hope you dont mind me posting it.

I had a miscarriage on Oct. 15 of last year, and my Dr. also told me to wait at least one cycle to try again. I didn't wait though and got pregnant sometime around Nov. 5, and now I'm over 21 weeks pregnant and everything is fine so far. My dr. did keep a closer eye on me for the first 20 weeks, but now he has eased up a bit.

I never waiting but it always took one cycle after my loses. The way my Doctor put it to me was. He would prefer to see me have one cycle but it really made no difference. Getting PG right away did not increase my chanced for another mc. He just like sees one cycle to know that my lining had built back up from the D&C.

At my 2-week check up after my D&C, my doc told me my body was back to normal and I was ovulating. He said it was up to us if we wanted to go ahead and ttc. So we did and I got pregnant right away!!! So far, so good with less than eight weeks left to my due date!

I recently m/c and since my DR didnt say one way or the other about sex or TTC right away.. I took it into my own hands. I didnt bleed very much at all after the D&C. So I waited for about 10 days or so, and then we "very carefully" BD'd. I was really afraid of it hurting or making me start cramping, but it went fine. Pretty sure I O'd about 2 days ago, so we'll see what happens. I, like you, am still emotional. But it is getting better and right now what helps me the most is to know that I can TTC right away again.
Let us know what you decide to do..

Hello,

I had a D&C on 2-15-06 and I had the same question of when can you try again. My OB said that yes many doctors want you to wait a full cycle before TTC, but he said something else that I thought was very helpful. He told me that your body will get pregnant when it is ready to. Makes sense. Just thought I would pass it along.

I had heard to wait 2-3 cycles before TTC again. I think 1 cycle is actually very reasonable of your doc to request. It gives your body time to heal. Good luck hon!

HI everyone, I'm new to this board, had a natural miscarriage (no D&C) last sunday (March 19th). I've just stopped bleeding today and I was also wondering if I could start trying right away. The only thing is I am very afraid of infection.

Is there a difference between healing times with a natural and D&C?

I would think that with the D&C you get all cleaned out, so healing starts earlier. I had an ultrasound done and everything was clear and gone. That was on Thursday, and I just stopped bleeding now, just spotting now for the past two days. I really want to start trying, and I feel that if my body wasn't ready for pregnancy then I would not get pregnant anyway, but I am a bit concerned about infection.

thanks for your help ,

Marina
